i like to blast my speaker, but i didn't invest in ICE. Stock speaker + Pioneer HU.

but i like Alphine.

The ICE in my car is just as the same as BS's car.
All stock speakers and a Pioneer head unit.

Maybe its time for you guys to invest some.

There is one factor which deters me from investing in ICE, that's thefts.
If there is something to secure the ICE, I won't mind invest in it..........:_:

Mine is std stock:
Stock Clarion CD Player with Detacheable HU
Stock Speakers

BS, with regards to your antenna problem and also to those with retractable antenna, do clean occasionally with WD40. Helps to cleanse the dirt and lubricate the moving parts. Just cleaned mine, really dirty.. :ridinghorse:

dartango, i did clean mine in the past, the result is worst. half down only, i dunno why. if i let it dirty, it actually have better result. i think my antenna "merajuk".

i won't remove it like babyprecious1988, because i just like the antenna stood up at the tail, it give total different feeling

As long as you don't show it off like blasting with windows down or put up the sticker of the system you bought is alright. Mine is as below

Player - Nakamichi CD-300 (just changed)
PreAmp - Rodek RP- QX 3
PowerAmp - Cadence VQ-600 Series 4 channel 70Wrms X 4
PowerAmp - Prokick DG-1200 Monoblock 1200Wrms
Component speakers - Rodek (Old School) 6" components speakers
Conponent speakers - Kicker (Old School) 5.25" components speakers
Subwoofer - 12" BossAudio DVC 1200W sub
PowerCap - CarSpec 2.0 Farad
Cables - StreetsWire
Fuse Block - Gold plated BestTone 150Amp fuse

Now..very very satisfy with the SQ of all this combination :)

Ace, you're a true avid ICE fan. How much had you spent on those ICE stuffs?

If trace back of all the equipment and items. I can roughly say that almost RM11K was spend. Of course I take it slowly upgrading one by one over years, not one shot. if one shot then die standing

Anybody knows where to get Sony or Pioneer headunits-1DIN with good price?

I saw quite an extensive range of Sony headunits @ ENEOS 1U. Anybody got jalan @ ENEOS to get cheaper sets?

I suggest this
Alpine, CDA-9855R Bass Engine Pro CD / MP3 / WMA Receiver / Changer Controller

The CDA-9855R is this year’s coolest CD head unit. It’s equipped with Bass Engine Pro for comprehensive sound tuning and acoustic alignment. It also features GlideTouch Control giving you touch and slide control over your head unit.

* 50W x 4 High Power Amplifier
* Max Tune SQ Tuner

Depends on what range of model you got on both brand. Higher end range usually no problem.

Dartango,
If you intend only for player then you can go ahead with BS recomendation. If you were to plan for poweramp as well for SQ setup. Then I would recommend NAKAMICHI for pure clean signal. You won't be needing all those eq that comes with the player as your sound processor connected with your poweramp will do a better job of fine tuning the sound.

Hello everyone..thx for the recommendations but I don't have the budget for such high end units. After comparing Pioneer & Sony, I find that Sony has many more innovative features compared to Pioneer plus most head units looks more "leng chai" compared to Pioneer.

BS told me Yu got some contacts to get slightly cheaper. Most accesories shops around KL are not big, looks shabby and prices are not good either (trying to potong my throat). I find ENEOS have a wider range to choose. Brothers also offer good price but the services people are not that friendly plus I heard services ain't up to par and they charge higher for installation services.

So, to cut short, I am looking for shops/dealers that are willing to sell direct...juz like "Mr Lee" equivalent... Pls PM contact if not convenient to review in the forum. :_:

there are plenty of reputable audio shops around KL and PJ...

err..there's one in Tmn.Sea, I forgot the name but it is just opposite some houses. Same row of shops as the coffee shop where you can find the famous pork noodles...

Then there's the audio shop with the big ALPINE signboard on Jln.Ipoh.. it is just next to the Shell petrol station.

There's still more I'm sure..

darren, if you intend to play many MP3 CD, be very careful with SONY player which support MP3.

My friend had 1 SONY Player (model number forgot), MP3 file name must be
1. ALL character must be in UPPPER CASE
2. No Space in the file name.

So most likely you can only play those CD burned by you with the format stated above. (No MP3 CD Sharing, No pirated MP3 CD)

It's stated in the user manual guide, but not the marketing brochure.
But i can't confirm other SONY model apply that rules.

Ace, NAKAMICHI!!!
Not only wallet, Bank account burst a big hole too, and make sure you remove your HU when ever your car leave unattended. :X-:
