Just to add an update to this old post. So that others can decide properly which car to get.
I have bought a used Honda City iDSI 2003 first batch. It's now 7 years old. The CVT has been replaced by Honda sevice centre in 2004. I only found out recently from Honda service records.
Presently, the car still runs fine.I have been driving it daily for over 2 years now. I don't play with the 7 speed manual shift often (only 5 times a year). I always change my CVT gearbox oil every 15,000km using original Honda ACVTF oil. I am an mildly aggresive driver. I like to accelerate at traffic light to beat the motorbikes and silly drivers.
So far, i have not had any major service required. I am happy with my purchase. Will keep the Honda City for another 2 years.
