guys !
i need your help.i got a parcel(supposed to be a gift) that got detained in the klia pos/custom.this is my first time receiving an oversea's parcel.since its a gift its not right for me to pay duty right?i need someone with experience in this to advise me.should i pay?or is there anything i can do or say?thanks alot

You need to pay the tax no matter it's a gift or a product.
The customs never know or care about if it's a gift or not.

As a Malaysian, we normally will do it the "usual" way. Then you pay less than the actual tax. Friendship needs money too.

your friend sent you gift, how can you be so stingy and not give the custom officers any gifts too?

or little more "legal" way, create a dummy invoice (make it real like it is faxed/emailed from your fren overseas) with lower value, then you pay tax based on the under-declared value.

* only can be done if no invoice comes together in the parcel....

otherwise, use the "friendly" malaysian way....

thanks for the info guys.but i m a newbie in this custom thingy.anybody with experience out there?
how do i start giving the malaysian way?
how do i open my mouth?
