help needed...rpm meter

all sifus & to those who have encountered such problem, your advice is much appreciated.

my wira rpm is always at stationary (0 rpm) when idling. however when in motion, it works like normal. very reluctant to send to mechanics as they might dismantle dashboard that may cause dashboard rattles.

What car? Same as my case... power unit is faulty (Mitsubishi Galant VR4).

wira 1.5 manual with siemens VDO. what is power unit? where is it located, dashboard or engine bay?
