S.O.S. to all sifu's out there. My engine suddenly gave this very very loud sound ...similar to teppet sound but it is very very loud. Extremely loud. Has anyone experianced this before. I am in Ipoh and my regular mechanic is in KL. If possible I would like to drive my car down to KL to have it fixed but I'm not sure if it is advisable. I checked the oil level and its available. Could this be due to a failed oil pump? How to check? Pls help S.O.S.......

It might be Rod knock - due to rod/main bearings scorched@worn out or might be your piston skirt broken causing Piston Slap...

Either way.. it's not advisable to drive hard or long distance. Your rods/piston may gave away anytime bro.

Thats what happened to my gsr last time.

loud knocks are usually the bearings
sad to break it up to u , bt its time to cry heheheh
kidding kidding , its nt a easy way for us to tell u
no one can help u here bt play the guessing game
u need to open the engine up , no choice

if valve seals you can see thick white smoke coming out and usually it will jerk and dies off. knocking i not so sure..

I can still remember the sound until today... Haiz....

just experience this problem with my engine... which now in pieces already huh...

i confront with this kind of problem also..
i tot it was tepet sound but the sound seems a bit loud..
check the engine oil level and it's normal..
but after drive for a while the sound seems to be gone..

Heya bro, open your oil pan, check for any free play at the conrod bearings, if the sound comes at a certain rpm, like a loud knocking, then it might be conrod bearings condem and free play at the conrod bearing

Cheers bro
