Hi Sifous..

My ride is a Proton Perdana 2001 V6 (A) clocking 125K Km now..
Just discovered the Engine oil is leaking

An initial check shows the leak to be from the timing belt oil seal and the opposite lower side of the engine (Suspected Gasket)
So far no white smoke from the exhaust.

I plan to keep my ride kickin for life so please help advise/share experience if.....

1) An overhaul is needed
2) Estimated Cost to Full Overhaul
3) Is it better to just change / tukar engine (My current engine & gearbox so far no problem)
4) Where in the Northern side or KL,
are there recommended Grease Monkey Mechanics whom I can go to...

there is no need for an overhaul just because a seal is leaking.
125k km is very low for a 2001 car and wont need an overhaul if you jave been looking after it.
did you change the timing belt?
if yes then did you change the camshaft and crankshaft oil seal?
if you did change the timing belt but not the seal then you jiat need to replace the seal.
however you will lose on labor cost as the timing belt needs to be removed again.

on the oil pan leak, just try to tighten the pan a bit more.
if cant then replace the gasket.this is very cheap.

dking91 & gunnerzz,
Yup, Changed my Timing belt (Dayco Timing Belt set & GMB Water pump) at 98.4K Km (Jan 2012)

Will consider doing a top overhaul first.
But I need a reliable mechanic...

Any recommendation...?

seriously bro.your mileage is very low.
my waja has clocked almost 200k km and still strong.

you just need some new seal.
even if i can afford it,i wont fix something that is not broken.

That is very low mileage for 3 and a half years. Remember to change your timing belt after 5 years even though you have not reached the mileage as time and heat will also deteriorate the belt which is made of rubber and belting....:smokin:
