for those who have watched wangan, there is some part that elaborate a bit about gear ratio for the devil z, my question is,can we mod the stock engine gear ratio wether it is manual @ auto tranny? Sifuses, help please

u dont mod the engine gear ratio.... engines dont have gear ratios as far as i know...
gearboxes has gear ratios :D n yes, u can mod... take note that "mod" means changing the ratio itself to (usually) an aftermarket one...not doing something to the stock ratio...stock ratio throw 1 side.
not sure about auto tranny's but most gearboxes that are modified are manual trannies... not many people in their right mind would bother modding an auto tranny gearbox.

" how to mod so that 1st gear can run longer for redlining (for pick up power) before we change to 2nd gear on a stock auto gearbox & stock engine @ it is not possible?"
example:- rite now driving a 660(A) stock but gear shifting like it is a semi-auto @ fliptronic
usually it gets to 40km/h @ 5500rpm (redline if refer to manual), trying to get it to go up
to 50kmh redline & 2nd gear up to 110kmh redline

Actually i'm looking for advices as well to mod the gear ratio of my swift auto gearbox. i know this may sound crazy but i've made enquiry on on swift mechanic and they can change the final gear for the auto gearbox at SGD900. But the problem is how reliable is this? I need some sifus here to shed some light. When one changes final gears what will change? As far as i've read the top speed will change too.. other than that i can't seems to get anymore infos..![]()

Can't see why it would effect reliability, considering the FD is well made. Is the FD from another Suzuki model or is it aftermarket?
Shorter FD (Larger Number i.e 4.7) = More acceleration, less top speed
Longer FD (Smaller Number i.e 4.4) = Less acceleration, more top speed
It wouldn't effect reliably as long as you buy a good FD?
And when we are shifting to the FD, your RPM will drop a lot. Logically.

Yep, FD won't effect reliability unless you buy a poorly manufactured one. Changing ratios won't effect how the gearbox work mechanically.
The gear ratio (1-5) is still the same as before and since the FD won't effect the gap between your gears, you won't actually experience more rev drop between shifting.
And yes, it's a toss up between acceleration and top speed. The FD will go one way or the other, depending on the ratio that you choose.
One noticeable thing with a shorter FD is your rev will be higher compared to stock while doing the same speed i.e at 100km/h, you'll be revving at 4000rpm compared to 3500rpm previously.
Wow, if this calculator is correct, then my top speed would be awesome!!!! But scared to try.

4th Gear = 205.7 km/h
