As the topic above.... what the best maintenance way for turbo car? every 5km oil change and oil filter only?? hope all those experience would help here..... :)

every 5k km and oil filter only. haven't done anything else... at least i hope not too >< /pray

  still new to turbo here...... jes wanna know how 2 make it more reliable to drive ..... need the expert to guide here... says GSR?? what the regular service?? <_<

I'm using fully syn oil.. oil change and oil filter change every 7K.

regular good grade oil change as any other normal maintainence. gear box oil every 10K kms.. check your hoses (water and i/c pipings) for wear and tear regulary. Air filter and lastly spark plugs. :D

i change my oil every 3K or after a month whichever comes
first and use only fully syn..... make sure ure spark plugs have
a heat rating of 7 or 8 and change them every 6 months....
gbox oil every 10K ........ so far no problems.... touch wood... :)

me every 5000km oil change , using mineral oil 20/50w . sparkplugs can last a very long time so don't bother changing it if theres no reason for a change .

thanks thanks for all ur reply.... but is it when use fully syn oil will make turbo lag?? i heard this from a friend of mine. is it true??

like u all said... turbo maintenance is almost like normal car service only.... thanks a lot for all of urs information... i will take note of all the information... million thankss CheerSS..... :D :D

i'm also quite new to turbo. but i only use semi syn oil. 15w50. i used 10w40 b4 but it's quite noisy due to the hydrolic tappet sound. so far so good..... cheers to turbos..... B)

 any other opinian or guide are welcome to share together....

if maintain turbo or no turbo same oso lor..if the engine oil botol says 5k then 5k lar if 7k then 7k lor...is no more diff from an NA engine...the problem is when u have leakage or turbo drinks ur engine oil now thats is what u have to repair first...

i usually hear ppl say.."engine turbo have to change earlier bcoz oil heats up la,engine oil finish bcoz of turbo engine, have to use fully syn lar, minyak mau mahal laa and all that....note that mitsu manual don't state the price of ur engine oil....only the specs such as viscosity n working temp....

turbo engine no more diff wif NA if no leaking or turbo problem...all those maintainance mahal all that is all tipu semata-mata...or cari makan lebih....

i change oil every 7k ..oil filter every 14k ..... don ask me why i change the oil filter every 14k ...cos the manual say it can last up to 20k ....

actually i heard many people saying turbo no good la hard maintain la bla bla bla.... after hearing for all ur opinion me feel more relief. i jes wonder y many peple say got lots pf problem. is it bcoz the rev to hard for their turbo or boost to high or mod to much to turbo?? Usually wat boost is the best for turbos??

Haih .. the grandmother stories about the high maintenence cost of the turbo engine ;)

Just buy the most expensive engine oil that you can afford and follow the oil change interval loh. Check water once in a while, brake oil, change gear oil 10Kkm and most of all the hoses and pipings make sure no leak. I find that with the extra heat, its best to spend a little bit more on the radiator coolant ..

U rev too hard N/a also mati maaa ... be gentle, dun drive like a race car driver if you want your engine to last. Wanna enjoy! Taruh, once ia a while is ok. After all we drive our car daily.

turbocharged engine maintenance cost high because of the expensive repair parts( dun care new/used)

regular maintenance is same.

turbo question, is it really necessarry to have a turbo timer? I hear that turbo engine can not immediately switch off otherwise will shorten the turbo life.

my car Gen2 using drive by wire(electronic throttle system) so mechanic say if wana use turbo need to use mircotech mt 4 to control injectors based on rev, but he never say anything abt a/f or ignition timing? any opinion/views?

whats ur average turbo car fc for daily drive?

thanks

turbo timer gives u the convenience of having the engine on to let it cool down after taking out the keys and locking the car
if u don mind sitting in the car n wait for a while, then no turbo timer also can ma
well at least i did tht for more than half a yr after transplanting,no budget to buy timer tht time,so everytime after stopping,i'll sit inside the car for say 10-15 secs lo,depending on how far u've traveled,n how did u drive,if revved kao kao before coming to a halt, then better leave it on for a longer while
