Final drive??

Juz make it simple

4G15 gear box final drive is 4.3XXX

i usually get 100km/h @ 3k RPM

but i change final drive to 4.6XXX

so when the rpm reach 3k, i onli driving around 90++, so i no more can drive 180km/h because my final drive restrict me, but if i did, i will blow my engine.

but my torque increase alot when i drive with the 4.6XXX final drive gear box. Juz too bad i cant drive highway.


1 to 5th gear got different ratio. That 1 i dunno kira la, kakakakaka

Ky_fei. That 1 to 5th gear., it depends whether your gearbox is transmission type or transaxle. If transmission type, identify which one is the speed gear and counter gear. If transaxle type, identify which one is the drive gear and driven gear. Both have same type of calculation but there's a difference that i don't how to explain. hehe. Want the ratio, need to calcute the number of teeth on the gears. hehe. Then put it in a formula.

The final drive is there to limit the speed of the wheels. Say you are running at 3000rpm and your 5th gear ratio is 0.85 and you don't have a final drive. So when the engine is running at 3000rpm, your wheels are turning at 3530rpm. Let's say the diameter of your tires are 20 inches. Your speed would be 338kph! And that's only at 3000rpm. Imagine 6000rpm, you would have broken Bugatti Veyron's speed record!

NO..... haha. Your 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th spin the final drive too...

4.6xxx?? is it from mivec gen 2 FD? or custom make one? pls advise

My car's Crown Wheel and Pinion is damage:(( crying its setting inside of ACD Transfer Case / Box

Here is my Cars Details :

Name : Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution 8
Model : 2003
Engine : 4g63 hp3437 (Turbo)
Chassis : ct9a 0202466
Transmission : 6 Speed manual gear (6Front+1Rear)
(All time 4 Wheel)

so where i can get this parts please help me i m live out of malaysia my cousin can send me the parts he live in malaysia...
