Hi all,
I just have the ems turbo bolted on but it is only running at abot 0.3 to 0.35 bar is it normal???
 
is normal as your turbo kit is only on stage 1.

stage 1, you didnt change injectors, gasket and piston

that why you cant boost high...........only on 0.35bar
 
so its normal??? is there anyway i can up the boost without without a boost controller? like increase the the spring rate or what???
 
do that n u can say bye bye to your gasket, piston rings and probably to your pistons also...
 
:huh: but 0.3 bar i am only getting about 130hp atw, i think the stock piston and engine can take up to 0.45 bar
 
is not problem on your boost even you buy boost controller wont help in getting higher boost.

the main problem is on your injector and piston

GTI injector if not mistaken is 175cc and you are using high com. piston, you cant boost high with this if not , bye bye to your engine
 
The 4G93P/92/Mivec is running on 240cc Injectors good enuf for low boost. However, the ori EMS Tkit comes with a FSE FPR to increase fuel pressure.

To boost higher just get a metal gasket/4G93T Piston, fuel controller and maybe a better fuel pump.
 
well ok. hmm kind of weak at 0.3-0.35bar. i do have a 2mm metal casket waiting to be fitted. i was told my injectors are max out with fuel regulator and unichip. what should i do to up the power say 180bhp atw.
 
To up the power to 180 at wheels... go get a GSR... really... don't bother doing up your turbo kit up to 180 at wheels... coz' by then, u'd have already spent more than if you were to get a GSR transplanted


You can probably change to a TD04 turbine and try running 0.5 bar with your stock internals... you'll need however an SAFC (unichip also fine i guess, but needs re-tuning), extra injectors+injector controller and bigger injectors if yours isn't big enough... I'm assuming u already have an adjustable fuel regulator... fuel pump should be sufficient, else change to GSR fuel pump or something.
 
lol, wouldn't it be safer to just get gsr ecu, piston, conrod, tdo4 and boost at 1bar, oh and gsr injectors too... but by then the only diff with this and a gsr halfcut would just be the 93p block... which is why there are so many anti turbo kits for protons here cause to get to 180whp now, you'd have spent way more than just going for halfcut + overhaul...

Thanks, well actually i am a little disappointedin the boost i am geting at 0.35 bar, i am getting gsr injectors and air sensor to help fueling on top of my unichip and fse. still trying to adjust the actuator to get the 0.45bar the ex owner geting.
btw will it be the problem with the spring that i am not getting the boost of 0.45?
 
well the best would be do the internals..
will not cost much..

u can go install a levin supercharge piston 81mm with no rebore no nuthing, direct fit..then get a 1.5mm metal gasket.. and install the engine back togather and u are talkng about a wild strong bottom end which can hold up to 2bar of boost..this is tested and proven..just not an idea..

pistons would cost u rm400 for 4pcs... gasket RM350 for ralliart 1.5mm then labour would cost u around 500 for whole works of top overhaul etc...all in so 1k plus settle already...
 
vteckiller, i asked u in the other thread about the conrod. 93T/P stock conrod going to 2 bar?

means if gti use EMS kit,
they can boost till .6 or .8 with the set up u said?
can stand for how long?
 
Yes agree with vteckiller, I did a 4G93T piston swap with metal gasket and can boost nicely to 0.8bar. EGT and AF still within safe levels.

With 1.5mm Metal gasket alone can boost to 0.7 - 0.8 bar oledi :rolleyes: ... what more with Levin Supercharger pistons??

I think stock GSR conrods can take max 1.5bar kot?

my mech says 1 bar shud be okay, but i think set 0.9 best lar, everyday driver, can't afford to have the conrod in pieces
