DIY Voltage Stabilizer

Question: Can I use 250V Fuses?? I've found 10Amps and 25Amps fuses but all also around 250Volts...

FUSE doesnt matter wan.... most important is Ampere rating :)

fuse is only a thin wire dat break off when de Current limit is exceeded...

what is the different if use 16v or 25v caps? izzit better to use 25v? seem like easier to get....

I'm using 60V caps... :D
Can use one la...

IMHO, using 16V is too near the margin. I think car bat is rated 14V... so less than 20% margin. The cap might blow. Plus the temp in Malaysia is really high. All this contributes to the caps degradation.

Blown e-cap consequence? Short your car +ve and -ve.

Just my IMHO, pls be careful when doing this.

well using 25V caps r fine... de higher voltage rating.. de bigger de physical size of de cap.

so far my VS using all 16V caps still running fine... no explosions yet.. :P

wanto blow ur cap? just overload de voltage or connect them in reverse polarity... boom!! :P :D

i bought blue diod too... no problem running in 12v right? put to neg- or pov+???

khguan,

hehe, good for you... :)
Remember that after a while, your e-caps will degrade... then... hehehe

Ahh.. So that's why I'm thinking something funny.

Most of You guys all use only about 30amps.. And you said you used 10amps only???

So all the current passes through only 1 small tini wini fuse wire but errr.. So why create such a fat soldering job on the PCB or use until 8 AWG or 10 AWG cables??

kakakaka...tis 1 i also wonders....

like ur sub woofer, y use thick wire when the coil of the sub is using something smaller then 30awg!!! :P

well... even car whole ICE system also got a high ampere rating fuse near de car battery.... it also looks very thin... but it still need thick cables to conduct high ampere of currents...

fuse wire is made of diff metal compared to our wires...

ermm.. i solder in such way just to make sure de current flow is more eficient n looks moresolid... FYI de max current flow is as good as de weakest link of ur circuit...

 hey,,time to get more info to our DIY session....

i'm using 2 x 4700uf 25v and 2 x 3300uf 25v.... got different...... but after i while the diode become dim..... and it's no on anymore...... but power still have..... i put it parallel with caps..... ,aybe i should add more....caps? kekekeke
shoot my spanar jatuh to some place in engine bay..... try to start car and swing it off but only heard kok kok sound..... OMG try to look but cannot see.... take out battery also cannot see..... donno where is it.... anyone can help?

those japanese use so little caps onli... not like us... hehe :P

for those who cant understand japanese.. use google translater... copy dat link n paste it into de "Translate a web page:" field n translate from japanese to english

hi everyone

if i wan to use a LED for charge indicator...

what OHM resistor should i use?

i used 1K ohm.. brightness is just fine...

for indicator purposes.. do not use values below 1K ohm.. so dat ur LED lifespan is longer

change engine sure see 1......:D

what happen if i put a LED serial like the bulb experiment as an indicator of charging & discharging process ? will it slows down the discharging ?

like the one in the diagram shown here, its parellel so it will always lit.
