DIY GROUNDING

Just did my grounding. Tried start the car, *tak* *tak* sound.. PANIC ~!

THen i removed one of the cable from the alternator.. start.. CAN dy!

Why like this ah?

this thing only happen when wrong grounding connection occured... thats all... be xtra careful if you're driving efi car... it will kaboom your e.c.u... bye bye... :D

i think its not ne cable prob.. mayb dat time u hear tak tak sound is bcos ur battery terminal not tight...

then when u remove de cable liao.. u tighten back the terminal.. duno lar.. u din mention how u do it,.. n wat are de grounding points...

thats right!!! check your connections first before blaming on the wires... "bukan salah ibu mengandung..." hahahaha :D

Thanks for your concerns. It worked well today whole day driving.

THe cable connected to the STARTER instead of the alternator! Thats why tak tak sound! THen the wire got very hot! Lucky i took it out fast, after 2 times starting the car! *Phew* Lucky din burn anything! Even lucky my car has no ECU! :P:P

SO tmro I need to screw it on the alternator, after know where its location from my mechanic. :P

wire get very hot means short already.... but dun worry.. it wun cause ur ECU to fry.. cos its between de battery n ur starter or de wire... so nothing to do with de ECU... unless ur car engine is running then got short... then got possibilities to get ur ECU fried.

NO problem at all now. ALready changed the cable connections. Its so much more smoother now with the engine oil change. Its my 2nd bottle using this UAE oil at RM50/bottle. I feel my car very gentle but yet powerful! U guys gotta try !

need help plz... just got myself a cheap 8awg cables...

(sorry huakenny i couldnt afford ur cables ar.. sorry bro..)

first i need to put in the gold plate at the (-) battery side right?

i unscrew the (-) part that time can see like got small electric sparks ... look dem scary. like anytime i can kena electric shock lidet... then my car alarm keep unlocking n lock my door automatically.... stupid....

issit normal ar liddet??? quite scared la, will kena shock or spoil anything anot?? must i wear gloves...??

then just now start rain ady so i just faster screw back the battery n decide to continue tmw la...

so can anybody advise me..?

1)firewall
2) distributor
3) engine header
4) alternator
5) dunno where yet... any suggestion?


all the points i think i can handle ... EXCEPT only the alternator part i dunno how to do ... coz it's so below my engine there, i dunno how to reach to the screw, put the cable n tighten it back la.... i'm driving proton saga LMST 1.3 ... hope can somebody advise?
the only ppl i noe that drive LMST n ground cable b4 is jaywat, but he never reply my msgs wan.... so i hope somebody here can help me more throughly bout grounding..... thanks...
