Dealing with Scammer

Some of us post about scammer.... but no one says anything about dealing with them.
So you got his/her full name, phone no, Bank acc number..... but what can we do after we got scammed?
Please share your opinion guys...... Does it work by just reporting to police? or we should get a lawyer to sue them?

Got a few info from the internet how to deal with them.
1)do the police report
2)go to telco compny to find a detail about the person using the the police report as a proof
3)go to bank ...and tell either the infrmation that were given by telco compny same or not...
4)submit back all the evident to a police station nearest or u can go straight to the scammer due to the adress that u get...before to anyting..inform back to the police then if got evryting clear..police will come[and]pick up... them

so many cases of scammers who keep on scamming la...even after police reports made. they seem to ignore small scams. i oso dunno how to answer other than be street smart n avoid being scammed...buy only from trusted sellers.
