can another evo`s got crank walk problem like evo 4?
can we prevent from this cases occur?
why this happen?

most of the crankwalk case was on the e4 engine.read alot bout it when i owning evo4.

u can search for more info here

bro i'm noob as well..what's crank walk?

that mean ur crank shaft move forward n backward during u push n release clutch padel..
it will become ur main bearing n crank getting worse, a lot of damage will be coming if late to detect..

ermm..no preventing.:hmmmm:
that is call factory fault is it?
just change evo5 engine block onward the problem have been gone..

how do u know ur crankshaft is moving? any particular sound or did u feel any vibrations when u push/release ur clutch?

thanks for highlighting this..

technically, any engine can suffer from crank walk.

some ppl say evo4 suffer more from crankwalk because the starving of engine oil in the bearing under certain condition due to the design of oil gallery/channel in the bearing.

evo5 onwards different design bearing, so less crank walk happens.

however, above theory is not proven.

sounds like...metal to metal knocking..."TOK...TOK...TOK..." fast beat ~ every 0.5s...very loud...it's NOT like the tappet sound where your rocker bullet (some say hydraulic lifter) worn out..

yeah, the technically is the design like H22-C told..

:dontknow:but wat i survey who used the racing clutch in everyday street user the possibility crank walk will be occur (ex: 3 puck excedy single plate completed, that clutch is heavy too push the padel)
i not blame that clutch coz i used it 2 yr until this happen to me and also my 3 friends who used it..:bawling:
(that clucth was amazing for me,myb for drag or sometime used is ok but street user not recommendate):listen:

yeah..
+ ur rpm will be drop also when ur push clutch padel.:banghead::banghead:

the best recommended solution (but not proven) is if your evo4 suffers from crank walk, replace it with evo5 engine.
