Open pod given away alrdy. Car was lightly tuned. Other then normal exhaust intake ignition, I also lighten flywheel n clutch. 0-100 was 8.3. Killed a lot of Satria GTi back then. Hehhee. And yet I get 14km/L. Thts how good it was.

I was quite active in Toyota Forum in Autoworld. It was TOCM (Toyota Owners Club Malaysia) back in 2002. I've tested both 20V Silver and Blacktops. Yes, they are powerful but only if you drag the rpm above 5500rpm. Anything below, the car was very weak. Surprisingly, the 4AFE was very torquey at low-revs. It was pleasurable to drive in city. With lighten flywheel and grippier clutch with bolt on mods, it was as fast as 4AGE. No kidding...

SEGs were good cars. After that, Altis was horrible.

hahah.. talkin bout toyota's, i'm so much frustrated when they came out with vios trd sportivo which so lame in performance perspective.. so much gap compare to those TRD celicas or TRD starlets..

Nowadays, those TRD, Mugen and Nismo that comes with street sedans are cosmetic enhancements. Rims, bodykits and maybe exhaust tip. It's not those true power improvmeent performance parts .... my old Sentra was Nismo too. 0-100 = 16.7 secs. Hahaha..

Yes indeed. I am not a big fan of Vios but I can't deny that the new Vios (frontal) looks very cool especially with the TRD kit. But then, it just stops there. Nothing more to surprise.

Just like Subaru XV. It's such a good looking car. I can definately live with the ugly rims that looks great on the car. I especially like the white one. Sadly, it doesn't come with turbo. A 230hp base model should be a perfect package. But then, it won't cost that cheap if it's turbo. Will see at least 50K more to pay.

Pure performance doesn't come cheap, that's all I can say.

like a super stock manual tranny vios can easily beat the TRD vios from 1st gear to 5th gear..

There's a lot of potential with the manual Vios. Much like SEGs. Proper mods can make it really fast and efficient. And it makes me thinking why the heck not Proton making Suprima-S manual? Just imagine, it is already looking pretty handsome. Slap on bodykits, put a TD04 turbo + tuning and with manual, it can eat a lot of cars, including treks!

it is actually cheaper to invest in manual tranny as well.. when its cheaper, more people would tend to bought.. i even heard their CVT cant even handle their stock power.. aiyo..

CVTs in Honda didn't work out well, that is why newer Honda (City) goes back to conventional autobox. Anyway, Airtrek's INVECS II is pretty well built in terms of robustness. Just that it's too 'lazy' at times.

Feeling? Well, I love the spooling whoossing sound. Very addictive. Especially half throttle after gear change, it is so loud. Well, that's the reason why I get open pod in the first place. Hahhaa....

Performance? My drop in last washed before CNY. When I open up today, it is so dirty! I don't know why it got dirty so quickly. Maybe no rain, more dust? A swap gave me instant feel in throttle response. Car feels much lighter and more responsive. Maybe dirty filter with less filter area makes it worse.

NEXT? I plan to frabicate a heat shield myself. Keep everyone posted.

I also went to Sunway D's Garage and got this. This should be my 4th oil cap! (2 HKS + 1 Ralliart) Hahaha..

NO la... I sort of started collecting oil caps for a reason. Hehehe...

I am now having challenge where to keep my original airbox. Need to also wash my K&N drop in filter, it's so dirty.
