Air Compressors do they work?

well, i've tried this microcompressor stuff one..yes, it eat alot more fuel..yes feel a lot torquer, but there's a catch..i got more torque, but from 120km/h to 140 km/h seems to take more time..at first i thought it is ok since i'm going up genting quite often, but then again, all the torque dissappear when i'm going uphill..took it out, my car a lot better climbing genting..never used one since..

I think we should get thing clarified by a pro~ a legitimate article would be good too~ because some say works...some say it does not work.... some say good.... some say not good.

well bro achmed , i just gave my review and also remebered my one lying arnd so if anyone wana try can offer me la , i will sell.

just giving my review because mine worked 4 me , i think brand and quality also plays a big role , mine i think is of high quality is made of stainless steel and its very heavy for sumthing small like dat.

well different car also different response ,u can set the thing for different usage , an experience foreman should noe how to set it.

well i think it got to do with type of car, injection or carburetor..mine is injection with mmc ecu..

I used something like that before on my dad's old wira (1.5 carbie). And yes, like Gill said, the engine response became better etc. It could be attributed to an easier unimpeded path for air to flow into the engine.

But when I used it on my EFI Wira 1.5, there was a significant increase in fuel consumption and some power loss. The reason is simple - my Wira uses Siemens-VDO ECU, which uses a MAP sensor to gauge the amount of air to determine the fueling curve. With the micro-compressor gadget, the manifold vacuum is always "leaky", and the MAP sensor ended up metering more air at all times. After chucking out this thing, my fuel consumption improved.

For an EFI car, you'll get more benefits from a free-flow filter (especially those drop in replacement ones) rather than wasting money on this. Even an open-pod filter screws up engine response.. you'll lose a lot of your low-end response, though it's easier to pull the higher revs.

As far as engine breathing is concerned, I'll vouch for a better drop-in replacement filter more than anything else after trying out such micro-compressor gimmicks and also numerous types of open-pod filters.

So here is the truth~ if you are running carburetors it is useful~
if fuel injection do not use it. is this correct?

But Thats weird...when all the new cars are EFI's why come out with a product that work on carbs....????
