here's my surge tank setup. 3 nipples on top, and 1 nipple at bottom.
functions of each top nipple:
1. inlet from 1st fuel pump to surge tank
2. overfill from engine to surge tank
3. overfill from surge tank to petrol tank
function of bottom nipple: from surge tank to 2nd fuel pump to pump to engine.
trackday results
before installing: at 3 quarter tank, there will be fuel surge anything less than 3 quarter tank, definitely surge especially at long corners like turn 5,6 and rear part of track.
after installing: even below E, ngam ngam reach petronas SIC engine die bcos of petrol finish, still holding strong at turn 5,6 without any indication of fuel surge at all. it really really makes a difference.
my costs:
custom designed (by cipan) surge tank, alloy material: RM380
bosch 910 fuel pump: rm380
pipework n workmanship: rm60 (special friend friend price hehehe)
hope it answers all ur questions...
