Renesis, yes. For pick up I opt for manual only....no AT.

My friend and his wife are 4WD truck enthusiast. He drives a manual and the wife an auto. That day met up with him at accessory shop. Told me the wife prefer to drive his manual.... :smokin::rofl:

I love the Colorado
Interior is nice too. Front is comfortable but rear seats are too straight...

Car price 100K+ but roadtax should be costly for a 2.8L Turbo Diesel.

Surprisingly 0-100 A/T model is faster than M/T model. Torque is higher by 30nm on A/T.

My office has a heavily modded Triton which the owner uses for Thailand drag racing. It's insane. CF a lot of bits here and there. big turbo, cut out bumper to fit intercooler, funky looking suspension and all, and a lot of meters with a stripped out interior.. for a daily drive. wtf.

True car enthusiasts...Eat, Sleep and drive also his Triton

If can afford, don't mind driving a GTR35 daily
Buy the car to enjoy ma, not to display at home

Only seen a Top Secret Gold Supra in KL quite often.

Haha, then why the wife got the auto in the first place?

But isn't it power loss from engine to transmission is lower in manual compared to auto?

Truck drag racing or competing with normal cars?

No idea, I thought Manual suppose to be better in pick ups. But then 0-100 slower could be the torque for M/T is lower while A/T model has higher Torque.

HP is at 180hp both same. M/T 440nm of Torque while A/T 470nm of Torque.

0-100 M/T slower by 1 sec according to the specs on paper.

Eh? 1 second is quite a lot of such a small difference in power. I also thought that manual had higher wheel horsepower than auto. Kerb weight is also lighter in manual. Or the specs on paper is wrong?

Cannot be wrong la cuz is in their website and they are selling the models.

U can check it out and see in Chevrolet website malaysia. A/T is their highest range model. also 17" wheels, M/T is 16"

Yup....thats the fun of owning a pickup....massive amount of torque and smoke kao kao when boost kick in...if you go to KK there they have lots of pickup drag racing one...all running diesel turbo with bump up boost setting and big turbos...awesome stuff....

When you've driven a pickup or own one you will feel that petrol's engine is no match for these diesel turbo monster....
My area here also quite a lot of modded Triton. ADM speed is nearby my place and I saw a few of their Triton job...very nice...

I opted for Triton because of the vast performance parts avail for this over the Ford, Isuzu..etc...

Ah, I think I know why already. Probably gear ratio differences because the auto is using a 6 speeder while the manual is using a 5 speeder only.

Depends on gear ratios also la. And the fella competes in general drags. not just trucks only.

I hate trucks for this reason. Bloody irritating if they have HIDs. Inconsiderate basturds.

Especially when they tail u behind....some just dont realise their trucks need some distance for emergency braking? :hmmmm:

Err...so you hate it because they have aftermarket HID? or because they are torquky??

SF, so you mean car can tail closer? what difference if tail by car or pickup?

Nope, not any moving vehicles should not tail others, but trucks weight transfer is different than cars.
Therefore, if any emergency brakes, they won't be able to brake in time if too close.

how different?? Please enlighten me....as far as my experience car follow too close also cannot brake in time regardless of "weight transfer"

Both! Torquey until I can never cut in front of them cuz they always just rev a bit and never let me in. Then when I'm in front of some dumbass who has elevated suspension and HIDs on a reflector headlamp. Damn those headlights can blind you man.

A diesel truck with HIDs are one of those cars that I always give way to when they get too near for comfort. Way more scary than a Estima tailgating me.

Common sense. A car and a Truck by right stopping distance should be the same but then in reality, lorry or I would say bigger vehicles would have more difficulty in stopping in time.

Not about tailing someone too close but is about the stopping distance it requires to stop the vehicle.

Unless u feel calm whenever a few ton lorry is following behind you at high speeds. Even with 1 or 2 car distance away, I would still be worried if it could stop in time without ramming into me. 4x4 is not a small and light vehicle as well.

You can follow this mod. Cut bumper to fit turbine...

If not, then Bonnet..

Can also loose some time in gear change....:driver:

You need a turbo to play with them. Got a few times these trucks try to outrun me, but in my VR easily take them on...:driver:
