CPS (Cam Profile Switching) vs VVTI vs DVVT

Anyone who is driving a new 2.0L Camry? One of my friends claimed that he reached 240km/h on the highway, coming from Penang to Ipoh. I believe that he got wind assisted. Else, I don't believe it can reach that speed though. What is your opinion? VVTI power

240, cant really say.. if 220 is possible if got long straight..even vios 1.5 manage to get 180++ with auto tranny..if camry 2.4, i believe can get 240km/h..maybe your friend manage to reach that speed during downhill run..if vtec vs vvt (eg blacktop vs b16a), vtec may have advantage during straight, but on curvy road, vvt got advantage due to early engagement of vvt..but for dvvt, can't really feel its activated..same for vvti on vios..can't really feel..on blacktop, can feel the difference when its engage. anybody know at which rpm dvvt activated?

I don't think it was due to downhill. Most probably, it was assisted by the wind flow...

2L car for 240km/h??:smokin:

You were amazed or what

That's the speed that he told me. 2.0L only & Not 2.4L...

2L car for 240km/h??:smokin:

It's just a normal CAMRY. No modification at all. He is my closed friend & I don't think he was lying la...

Unless the final drive gear ratio is so low, but I've never driven one before. I don't think it's possible. That guy was just bull shitting.

Well it's not entirely impossible, 2 scenarios enable the car to travel up to 240km/h:

1. Downhill (most prolly)
2. Super long deserted straight

If 2.0 Camry can go 240, then 2.4 Camry can go even higher. We assume 2.0 can max around 220km/h.

Which 1.8L can go 220km/h? Original ka? Can share your comments...

why 2.0 camry cannot go 240?

while even 1.8 car can go more than 220km/h already?

If you had travelled from Penang to Ipoh, you know tha there won't be downhill. For super long straight, I don't think it's super long straight. I still believe it's assisted by wind & maybe, VVTI :itsme::rofl: Even my normal GTI can't reach 240km/h downhill...haha..

VVTi and DVVT - kicks in be4 3000rpm....after 3000rpm will like normal engine.....if VTEC B22 will be ppl called Big VTEC....kicks in 6000rpm, means high rev engine....VVTi and DVVT for fuel economy....correct me if i'm wrong...

Neo R3 can reach 2++km/h and that's with a 1.6l engine. 240 km/h for 2.0l car + high final drive shouldn't be a problem as low final drive is for acceleration, not top speed.

no point "lansi" how higher top speed ur car can go... important is how fast u can reach top speed in under control condition...

I second that.

No point "lansi" how fast your car can go. Acceleration and control is more important. Afterall, you're not dragging with a bugati veyron

Bro,
People asked whether you have experience with 2.0L Camry & what is the top speed achieved? We are not talking about 'Lansi' or 'Not Lansi' la... Either you can have good acceleration or good top speed. So, do you have experience driving a Camry or not? Kindly share...

..but the power to weight ratio is different ler... In fact, a lot of cars can reach 200km/h ++ already based on current technology. I thought for 2.0L Camry, the fuel cut is at 220kmh.

H22A kick in at 5500RPM, while cut off at +/-7600rpm.
Compare with B-series engine, H-series engine is not a high rev engine.

I sat before on yr2005 model. 190km/h is the max.

2.0L? Which road was that? 190km/h is too slow for a 2.0L right...

Yup, different power to weight ratio although weight does not affect top speed, only acceleration.

Where is BKE? 190km/h is slow for a 2.0L right...?

Butterworth-Kulim-Expressway.
Btw, 190km/h is consider slow for 2L engine?
My 4G92 & H22A are manage to max on 180km/h only
