Steering wheel leather is torn AF. Can see scratches on the door handle, footrest area and saw cigarette marks on the cushion ! This a GSR model so no leather recaro ... The dealer keep assuring the driver didn't smoke ... Then i showed them the mark, then they said could be one of the mechanic when they let them inspect the car before put it on sale.

I would have thought they would have refurbish the car nicely before putting up for sale.....:smokin:

Hmm if steering leather already torn off, then the actual mileage should be more than 120k km already. Smoker or not, the main point is surely the seats cacat already leh! GSR should also have the leather material on the bolster, only RS doesn't have any leather on the seats if not mistaken. Then the MR would have red stitching of the same GSR seats.

Used car dealer usually will not replace steering wheel leather and seat cushion. Used Evo IX steering will cost them around rm800-1000 (or rm200 if rewrap) then the seats complete set around 3-4k (maybe 2k plus for front and about 1k+ for rear) so pretty costly. They'd just normally clean up, repaint & polish, then reset the mileage lower. If windshield or some lights are broken then they also might replace that, otherwise they won't spend much to refurbish. Recon car sellers though might do/spend a bit more but mostly about the same also.

English field eh, if you are open to foreign jobs, i would suggest you can try out as an English teacher or translater in Taiwan. My friend was getting good pay at Taiwan by doing translation from English to Mandarin. However, the job might be niche but does well enough to pay bills and buy a car there. If you can handle left hand drive of course.

Foreign jobs? So far, I have only thought of Japan (where else can be a better place for JDM car guys). But to be a translator or English teacher over there, I need to know Japanese first. I might give this idea a thought after I graduate.

As for Taiwan, it is a bit of a turn off for me because of the left hand drive. Feels weird to drive MT cars in left hand drive. Another thing is, I can only speak and listen to Mandarin but I can't read or write in them. I came from an English school.

For a car that cost that much used, that will be hard to sell if most things looks old and broken.....lol

For interiors seldom they will replace stuff because at least people won't notice from the outside. Interiors also not easy to touch up, mostly need to replace. They care more on exterior coz that's very obvious and easier to just repaint. I've checked out Evos with holes in the dash and door panels and they're just selling them like that even though exteriors all look nice and shiny. (there's one with cracked windshield and lights and they say they can cover for those but not the damages on the interiors).

Yeah man, yet they still got the balls to put it on sale.

It's gonna cost me even more in future if i am getting one. Restoring the ran down parts and worn interiors will really cost me lot. Hopefully still can get a decent unit. Might opt to buy from direct owner.

It's always better to buy direct. Why not just hang out in the Evo club or something and see if anyone has one for sale?

That's why dealers won't fix/restore them coz it's expensive! The bad thing is they still want to sell at the normal price. If the condition is not that good still fine as long as the price is also comparatively lower than the average market price. So say a good Evo IX market price is around rm120k, so one with not so good condition should be rm110k or even below, then that is fair enough. But again what's more important is the body condition coz if got major accidents then already cacat and no matter how much money you put on it it's not going to be the same anymore. Other things like broken parts or worn out interiors can still be replaced/fixed easily if got money.

I can't trust dealers now, if i am really need to buy from dealer, i will go pay a visit to Naza World. If i remember correctly, i saw an E8 in the showroom still. That was like months ago.

Naza World is selling all expensive cars leh! In principle ALL used car dealers are dishonest no matter what coz that's the nature of the business! It's up to us consumers to be smart about it and make a good judgement on how much money we're willing to spend on a particular used car at a specific condition.

do what izo said.. hangout in the evo groups... it really helps, thats how i got my car, i hung out for a long time in car groups, happily admiring cars till someone suddenly made me an offer for a pretty decent car

Actually if you know someone from within especially high management, you can get some special deals. Anyway i have connections and i don't wanna expose him here. For the meantime i will focus on other fundamental needs first before putting this evo search into the game. Hehe.

But poison can be very bad influence. Die, die also want then go into debt......hhahhahahah:biggrin:

Buy house and get married first la. But buy the evo before your 1st kid. 1 kid = 1 Lamborghini price.

Er no plans for child. Honestly i don't really like to raise a child. If i go back in time and i see myself as a kid, think i would like to punch myself too. I'm a very naughty one as a child haha.

Congrats to you getting your Masters...:adore:

Kahwin not too bad, but preparation is the killer, like getting a house, then furnishing it and all that.

After marriage, enjoying your couple lives, later sure need kids leh! I have two kids, and when they were young it is a hassle bringing them up but that is life. When they are around you, you find them noisy and annoying, but when they are like not around like visiting grand parents, you will fell very lonely.....hhahahhaha:biggrin:

Wah...

Probably, this is the longest chat to get an Evo in Malaysia.
Can set a record already.

If you think to deep, might be some other car suited your requirement.
