This BMW X6 was sent in for a detail. A few random deep scratches around but those were not tackled. The aim was to remove swirls, to restore colour and gloss.

Starting from the wheels. The chrome was masked by the dirt. Front wheels have plenty of brake dust.

A 50/50 shot before and after. Wheels were cleaned by Optimum Power Clean

The dirt collected from 4 chrome wheels.

The wheels were further treated with Iron-X to breakdown and dissolve any embedded iron particles.

A friend from Auto Leather, meticulously polishes the delicate aluminium parts with mini electric tools.

One does not simply neglect these small, nevertheless important parts.

As for the paint correction, a 50/50 shot shows the effectiveness of swirl reduction and colour restoration. Note the deeper, richer colour on the left. the paint was compounded with Optimum Hyper Compound on wool pad followed by Optimum Hyper Polish on finishing pad.

A close up 50/50 shot

Plenty of swirls on the bonnet

After correction.

The car was waxed with Autoglym High Definition Wax for a HD finish.

Rich gloss. Worthy to bear the propeller badge...

Thank you.

Damn wet gloss and reflections. One up for AG HD wax.

Is that small polishing tool a dremel? Should be useful to have.

Sorry. It's spelled with one 'm' - Dremel. Something like this: DREMEL® 3000 (3000-1/25 Hobby) - Dremel

It's a small rotary and can connect to a flexible shaft...some small model hobbyiest or even computer freaks use this to do mods and stuffs. I also know one detailer down south who has it.

Haha... not sure didn't see the brand. Looks like it but the colour is different. The one my friend uses is greenish.
