Hi All.

i have temperature prob.using kancil L5 Auto.
Modi made:
Front incooler+piping
turbo TD04
tulang ikan
blitz blo of

when cruising, aircond is on,the temp start to increase, but no problem if the aircond is switch off.

what i did due to this prob:
1.service radiator(my radiator is double layer with 4 wire motor fan)
2.top overhaul(new gasket,skim)
3.using toyota coolant
4.new waterpump
5.tighten all hose..so,no water leaking.
6.remove termostat.

when idling, the water at the radiator cap, smooth(air pusing2)..

problem arise, just when the aircond is on and running the car about 5-10km,the temp start to rise.i can't hold it on hot day when sweating my armpit..haha..

any pointing sifus?where else i can check?

u got check whether your fan pusing2 anot?
if not
suspect
1.fuse
2.motor fan.
fan is pusing2 bro..when the aircond is on and off..i did wired the fan directly,so that when ignite, the fan will start running.and the fan pusing is like puting beliung..very strong.

1. new waterpump
2. engine newly overhauled
3. fan ok
4. radiator ok
5. no leaking
6. radiator cap ok

u mentioned earlier the temp increases only when u turn on the aircond rite...
so means should be something wrong with it....but abit difficult for me to diagnose...

wait ah. i will get sifu xtremeleo to come in.

thanx danz for the invitation

if the radiator is at placed behind the condensor, then it may be a classic case of heat sinking in into the radiator when the heat is removed from the condensor. are u sure the rad/condensor fan is running properly when the aircond is switched on? y did u removed the thermostat in the first place?

You mention that u remove your thermostat. Why? Did u mean you change your thermostat or u remove it away?

Hmmm... maybe he removed it so that the water can keep circulating the engine without stop, cause by the thermostat which keep on and off to control the engine working temp. Correct me if I'm wrong here guys.

do u have aftermarket water temp meter install in your car? if temp arise up to 90-110 degree celcius is still consider acceptable. try also put back your thermostat and see the water temp meter.

I am also facing a similar problem. This evening, I stopped to get a drink. When I came back to the car, I could feel the heat. I turned the key and saw that the temperature meter passed the H. Quickly turned the car off. Luckily a man there was kind to help me. Let the engine cool down. Opened the radiator cap and found it so dry. Filled about 3 big bottles of water. Left the radiator cap open and started the car. Water from the radiator was splashing out. Quickly turned off the engine again. We waited for it to cool down a little while. Filled up more water and started again, same thing happened. Waited again and started again but this time with radiator cap on. Temperature was fine. Let the engine run for a while and I saw that the temperature was normal. I decided to drive back. Temperature was fine with my air cond on driving at normal speed for quite a distance. Almost reaching home, the temperature shot up again when i stopped at the traffic light. Continued driving but it got worse and I really had to stop. Let the engine cool down again and started driving again as I was not far from home. Not even 500 metres, the temperature went pass the H. Stopped again. Let it cool down. Filled more water. Temperature was ok till i reached home. My father checked for me then. Let the engine run, temperature wont go up. After a while, it was still ok. Then, filled up water till the engine was really cold. He went for a drive slowly without the air cond. Then drove very fast without the aircond. Next drove slowly with air cond. Stopped at a few traffic lights and still the temperature was normal. He came back home. Let the engine run again without the air cond. The temperature shot up again after about 5 minutes. Earlier he was driving around for 20 minutes without problems. Quickly turned the engine off and went back in. He called our mechanic. Explained that there could be 3 causes. The first is leaking hoses. The second is radiator may be "sumbat". The third and most scary thing is the head is gone. He said need to remove the head, skim something and put new gaskets for the head which will cost a lot.

I have said everything in detail here. I hope someone could give us an idea what could be the cause. Thanks.

have u checked the radiator fan? there were several problems dat i faced in the past, and people kept telling me it was head bengkok. in all cases, it wasnt the head, but sumthing else. the stupidest problem dat caused me problem was sum guy doesnt know how to wire the vacuum hoses properly, rendering the car running too lean when boosted up. i rectified dat, and it wasnt the head.

ohh, and next time u see the temperature rises up, if its beyond normal kan, just shut the engine up. do not wait till it goes to the red mark, just a friendly reminder sir

xtremeleo, the radiator fan works and also the air cond fan. I forgot to inform. Both fans are working properly.

I had to continue driving as I couldnt stop at the traffic light. I just drove a little further to stop. Thank you for your advice.

same thing happened to me, but when my temp shot up to max, my engine automatically shut down by itself.......
found out it was a faulty hose.....lukily......

u need to check your water hoses......if all ok, could either be your water pump or radiator bocor.....if your lucky could only be the radiator cap.
