angel,

they have a mini club almost in all district/shire! so no need to worry. Try to go for big shows like Mini In The Park, International Mini Meet and L2B run. You will be just amazed with the BUG that has bitten us.

sureshn,

I wish I could spend more time in the UK, although luckily I do get to travel there occasionally. But now, must really think twice to buy stuff frmo there as the currency has just gone higher close to 7.4 Rm to 1 GBP now. I have more pics, but lazy want resize it, maybe when i have more time will try to post it up. Cycling sounds fun, and I cannot explain why there is a kayak there! :D

minicooper,

go to www.miniowners.org and under the for sale section, tehre is this guy who is making a lot of carbon fibre stuff for the mini and to me its seems cheapr than Curley's stuff. How is the cf door mirror that you bought from kok peng? For sale ah? heheheheh....got ready buyer here!

Something tells me I wont be getting my car this Saturday !!!!!!!!! Darn it!

You picture already making me drool, but knowing that you took part in that run got me drooling down all the way. Don't just keep quite about it elaborate more and especially if they have the next run , how and what are we to expect in term of cost etc...

Twisted angle

Go into the net and make a search for mini clubs and basically you can find most of the clubs ther, than you can sellect the nearest one to the place you are going.

Sureshn

There's one fast mini down in PD and he is currently the Champion for this year Classic Car Race at Sepang (after 6 rounds of racing). By the way can you PM me your contact no.

skyline,
TT - count me in.

question:
does anyone know where i can fabricate, or (better still) buy a moke handbrake cable (twin type)? i took one out of a standard mini and found it to be short by about a feet! Checking through the net has revealed that for the pickup, estate and moke, longer cables are used. I've asked Rosli, the Pudu shop (Sim Tom Bee?) and several others to no avail. Short of ordering one from Aust or GB, anyone has any ideas?

Hi Hi Hi!

It has been a while since I have last put up a posting here. Anyway, I am Steven and I'm driving a 1.0 Mini Rover. However, my mini is in the workshop now. I am thinking of changing the engine to a manual 1275 fuel injection one, priced at RM3800 for a half cut in Klang. Do you guys have any advice for me? Currently, mine is an auto and there is not much power and it's giving me a problems now and then with the carb and the gear. Well, hope to raise the RM3800 soon in order to get my baby back. Cheers!

Steven

Angel,
Nice pics - esp the ones showing the fluffly red (pink?) interior!

Steven,
1. Does the RM3800 include installation/workmanship or just the halfcut?
2. I'd say you need a good mechanic who is familiar with Mini's. Any mechanic can do the transfer job but to get it done to satisfaction requires better mechanics.
3. since the old engine is being taken out, take the chance to spruce up the engine bay. eg. remove rust, give it a coat of paint etc. once the new engine goes in, you wont be able to do it.
4. before you put the new engine in, i'd recommend you change all those oil seals which are easily accessible with the engine out. eg. drive shaft into engine seals, seal in the flywheel housing, gear lever seal, gear level sleeve (if loose) etc .. get these done so that you won't get frustrated with oil leak after the engine swap.
5. it'll cost a bit more though to get all these done.
6. what do you intend to do with the old engine?
7. what about the left-over parts from the half-cut? wanna sell? let me know as i'm looking for certain parts.

Suresh,

Thanks for the info! RM3800 does not include mechanic's workmanship. However, the mechanic is my cousin, so, it's not going to be too expensive. I have the intention to sell off the old engine and the extras from the half cut. Don't worry, I'll let you know when the parts are available. I will probably go ahead with the operation by early next year, so, I might be posting up whatever extra parts are for sale.

Is there any Mini 'Master' whom I can send my car for tuning after the transplant is completed? I know En Jamali from TTDI who repairs Minis but he told me that the fuel injection engine is lousy as compared to the normal one, because the fuel injection engine is mostly controled by the computer. Is that true?

Cheers!

Steven

Steven,
I wouldnt say new engines with ECUs are lousy. In fact, with fuel injection, you should get better mileage. However, most of these mechanics do not have the diagnostic tool (computer-based) to do the job - and it's expensive to buy. with the old engine, it's just a matter of adjusting the carb, the distributor etc with hand. so, these mechanics claim these new engines lousy. that's whay i think, anyway ;)

hmmm....ok, anywayk, thanks for the info! Anybody going to genting this saturday? actually, I had planned to go, but, as u know, my baby is in the workshop. I would like to go and have a look though.

mini going up genting sounds good...

having a bad day...everything seems to be delayed for my mini!!!!

darn it.....hate it when this happens.

was in amf too. The drift was quite nice. Carrera GT was a beauty!

also a 630bhp E-class merc was doign a nice wheelspin for the cameras...sounded glorious. Apparently is a modded E55 AMG!

a bit boring towards the end though....

drag on sat nite was good...except for teh bloody f**king loud music. Wanted to hear 600 hp engines growl, instead getting music from Darude and Paul van Dyk!! Felt like Zouk rather than SIC!

hahaha fast man club i knoe what u mean...
same here...
anyways...didnt get to stay till the end..
coz i hitched a ride...
so kinda went home early sadly...
