vtec in proton?

Well, JPJ used to allow 30% on Proton car before the no 'kereta potong' rule. Now requirement drop to 25% and strictly no 2.0 engine for any Proton except Waja Chancellor and Perdana but I managed to get my old Waja 4G18 swapped with 4G63T and endorsed back in 2005. That is why I still keep the car back in hometown for sentimental value.
If am not mistaken, Few Toyota, Nissan and Beemer doesn't require an alteration to original mounting. A mere changes in mounting rubber will do. That is why Beemer or Toyota with stock 2.0 can get 1JZ endorsed without any problem. Provided that brake and suspension is upgraded to cope with extra power.
Btw, I know a few 'people in authority' running on Waja 4G63T and others with upgrade exceed 25% converted quite recent but this is Malaysia, so, their have their way...
I used to send friends and relatives to LCCT in a heavily tinted stock black Perdana without any problem. Most recent is last december.
I got away from the roadblock with only 5 words..., they never ask further but even if they do so, I've got the answer! :driver:

"Bapa saya ialah lawyer"?

Eh wait.. that's 4.

Surely layan if that Proton Praanngg here & there.. No one expect if that Proton hits 5800RPM with such a loud praang.. Especially if it goes with all the standard bodypart, no bodykit, no GT-Wing or whatsoever. Pop up the hood, there u goes.. D.O.H.C VTEC

"So, do you have a VTAKK??"- Keiichi Tsuchiya, Hot Version VTEC Edition.

I saw before, starlet turbo engine in hyundai getz, nissan cefiro VQ25DE in Kia carnival and SR20DET in RX8 all going to endorse..

yes bro, import cars can be endorsed as long it not to extreme mod. But for malaysian proton car, it NO for them. Cannot exceed 25% from engine capacity and and from other brand. Correct me if im wrong

Proton always be the central issue.. Be it the JPJ endorsement, be it the exported Proton price, be it the Open Market Agreement, be it the Power Window Rosak...

100x LIKE!!! :biggrin::biggrin::biggrin::biggrin:

LOLed at all the reply
I was just using common sense as an answer. We all know Perdana was once used to be a government's official mean of transport
Btw, back to topic, Its a common legal transplant of 2MZ-FE, VQ25DE or RB25DETT onto the likes of Naza Ria or Kia Carnival as engine capacity and mounting is almost identical. No problem with Puspakom and JPJ endorsement. The rule is getting simpler as no more 1.x to 2.0 conversion even though its well within 25%. But there is always a lapse in the law which people will take advantage to. Ie...stroker kit and internal mod.
The changes in law are mainly due to the 'kereta potong' issue which involved many lives few years back. Nevertheless, a good move by JPJ but the double standard is there. Hence, people are not happy with the implementation as certain quarter get away with it.

That Blue Saga VTEC was done 20 years ago. Hence no problem with JPJ back then.

It's not gonna be easy to get it endorsed for sure. I would suggest a MIVEC in Proton's. It's common and many have done it before. Anyway, the reason of this post is not to tell u guys something u already know.. Lol.

I wanna know those 5 words. What is it?
