i am using a kenwood comp set for the front, but when i play some rock song, or song that got alot of middle frequency, the tweeter make some noise like 'pecah' sound, how come ar?is it the tweeter problem?crossover problem?or i need a amp for it?bcoz i am pushing it with the HU only. hope someone can give me some idea....thanks thanks~!~!~!

yeah.. i got those problem b4.. something like tick tack tick tack.. solution : change.. :)

it happened to my current tweeters too...
i power with 50watts [email protected] it is fine..
after changed to 75watts [email protected]... it sound
brighter. i once on my volume 28/32... now it start to distord
at high vocal part... especially the female vocal part.

i think shouldn't on the HU volume too loud... if i stay at 24 always
it wouldn't happen.... sigh...

Problem is you are feeding too much power, the comp set cant handle it. Either change to another comp set or reduce the gain on yoru amp.

Additionally the sound is distortion, caused by unclean signal or amplifier.

for me, i use to have same problem like you guys last time. on my old car with cheapo component set and on my new car with stock speakers. music will start to crack after volume reaches 24-30. after changing to a nice set of component speakers, problem half solved. but i found out that whenever i use those preset EQ's like vocal, superbass, custom, flat and etc, it'll start to sound very sharp and leads to cracking. these "artificial" amplification will only spoil the sound. unless you're those who are happy to blast your music along a quiet neighbourhood or thru a row of mamak with those super sharp treble and muddy bass sound. my friend came into my car and being itchy fingers adjusted the head units EQ to maximum in bass and treble. true it gives a boomy and sharp sound when you play a CD but to me its just noise.

now that i set my HU's EQ to flat, it sounds a lot more natural and doesn't crack at all even though my volume at 55.

i think it is EQ that kills my tweeters...
u reminded me... ehehehe...
i switch it to ROCK and blast at high volume that day...

cross at 2.5k@12/24db slope.
