Hi.

need some help and advices from all AE111 owner :_:

thinking to upgrade my AE111 1996 1.6(A) handling and stability.

i can feel the steering shake when reach 110KM/h and above. anything wrong with it ? i just done tyre balancing and alignment on feb07.

it also feel steering become light when 110km/h above. :Not_Impressed:

i try my dad AE111 2000 version (crystal light) but didn't feel steering shake and become light even reach 150km/h.

just wondering it is the real fact AE111 1996 version is too light and any AE111 owner from Zerotohundrend make upgrade to over come the weak points ?

bro, steering vibrations can be due to

1. tyre over inflated or under inflated
2. tyres uneven wear
3. defective tyres
4. disaligned wheels/rims or bent
5. improper wheel balancing

try to sort out the above first.

normally, vibrations between 80-120kmh indicates balancing problems.

however, it also may occur from
6. worn out wheel bearing or bearing housing at wheel hub
7. defective drive shafts

i suggest try to sort out the sheaper solutions.

best thing is to carry out on-wheel balancing before final test is done.

your car model is AE111R-AEPEK (AEPEKA if with ABS) while your father's car is AE111R-GEPEKE (GEPEKEA if with ABS) but the steering system is similar.

fyi, AE111 is quite a light car because of its size (smaller than previous AE101 and later ZZE122 Corolla Altis).

all the best to you.
