As one of the major players in the luxury car industry, Infiniti had just released a new contender for the Malaysian luxury SUV market. Facing off the famous heavyweights like the Cayenne and the XC90 is the newly styled 2012 Infiniti FX.
This new performance luxury crossover by the Nissan-owned company had received some fresh touches for a more alluring look than the previous version. With a newly styled front grille and external fascia, the new makeover also features some new 20-inch alloy wheels and an updated instrument cluster.

And when the word “performance” is mentioned, it is performance indeed. Powered by a 3.7 litre 24-valve DOHC V6 engine, the 2012 FX packs 320-horsepower under the hood which allows a 0-100 time in just 6.8 seconds. That’s mightily quick for a large SUV! And the speed will keep on climbing until it reaches it’s the top speed of 235km/h. For the transmission, the engine is paired with a 7-speed auto with Downshift Rev Matching and Adaptive Shift Control (ASC).

Although the performance figures for this SUV are pretty impressive, it does a terrific job as a luxury vehicle as it is. The FX has enough space to carry around five adults and the cargo capacity to fit it four full-size golf bags. And what good is a luxury vehicle if the ride is not smooth? The Intelligent All-Wheel Drive fitted ensures such is delivered by configuring the suspension setup and torque redistribution for both comfortable ride and firm handling at the same time. The FX also comes with Anti-Lock Braking System (ABS), Brake Assist (BA) and Electronic Brake force Distribution (EBD) to assist the braking of the 4-wheel ventilated disc brakes.

The FX’s interior is also fitted with a number of gadgets to make the atmosphere fitting for the driver in every way such as the Intelligent Cruise Control and the Around View Monitor, which enables the driver to have a 360° view around the FX via 4 cameras fitted around the vehicle, suitable for tight maneuvering. And for entertainment, a Bose 11-speaker Premium Audio system is also available for both the driver and passenger’s listening pleasure. A number of advanced technology system installed also includes Distance Control Assist (DCA), Lane Departure Warning (LDW) and Lane Departure Prevention (LDP), and Intelligent Brake Assist (IBA) with Forward Collision Warning (FCW).
With all these features, the On-The-Road price of the 2012 Infiniti FX37 4WD GT is RM 435,000 excluding insurance.
And on other news, Formula 1 fans can get up close with the Red Bull Racing RB8 F1 car at the Infiniti F1 Roadshow from the 23rd to the 26th of February 2012 at the Bangsar Shopping Centre (BSC) as the car will be on display together with Infiniti’s complete range of road cars.
