Hi folks,
calling all Streamyx or Jaring 1Mbps Wireless users. Need some reviews from you guys regarding these 2 services. Thinking of subscribing to either one of them soon and your input would be greatly appreciated. Please inidicate your location, service quality, downloads speeds, etc... Thanks!

I don't think Streamyx has got a wireless service for personal/home use. Still need the damn phone line.

crazievitek,
If you want to spend 6 months trying to solve your streamyx problems with tmnet, then by all means, use it. As for me, since September 2005, I've had intermittent disconnection problems and it's not been solved even as I write this. They are giving me a rebate because of not solving the problem for such a long time. Trust me, when I say "Seriously Bad Fucked Up Forsaken" service, it has got to be tmnet. And calling their Hotline number is not toll free too.
The choice is yours.

same here. Its not only me but my neighbourhood. I've called them numbers of time, and even send an email, and everytime their respond is the same, flush your dns lar.. manually set dns lar.. tweak browser settings lar.. run without spliter lar... wait 10 minute lar..

dammit, i've told them over and over i've done all that and they friggin tell me to RETRY!! dammit its not my computer's prob for god sake i even had friends bring their modem here to try out and still same. ask telekom come check the line they can't find anything wrong WHILE a friend live 7km from me who had similar problem had his fixed after telekom switch the old wires with new one in his whole neighbourhood.

I just want to say that, if there's ever another telecomunication company who provide 1mbps unlimited access adsl line i'll switch over, even if it means that it will be abit more expensive. I'm tired of streamyx and tmnet. I'm tired of online gaming getting mobbed halfway and suddenly everything stop moving and only to find that i'm dead when i reconnect. I'm tired of halfway sending money through online banking and it shows me page not found cuz dc halfway.

LOL...

I pity you guys.

I had my own problems with streamyx. The fuckers miscapped my connection speed so I'm only getting 512kbps when it should be 1.0mbps. Called them around half a dozen times. Initially they also told me to flush dns and all that shit. I told him "I'm not a newbie and I know what I'm doing. And you've miscapped me...it shows there on my modem status page...blah, blah..." Still it seems the fuckers don't understand what I'm trying to tell them.

Created 2 reports. One through the phone and another through TMNet Clickers, who btw, are just as useless.

Finally after about 2 weeks of jerking me off, I got really pissed off. I was pretty polite up to this point. And I let rip at the sad bastard at the other end of the line in BM (was using English everytime but seems like they think I'm talking Russian). Poor fucker was very apologetic and said he couldn't do anything at the moment but he would check it up and raise the issue with the technicians.

Next day, fixed. Heh.

It's allright so far. Getting reasonable speeds and no issues occured (touch wood!).

silverfish:

that happens to me too, sometime ago, i called and called and called and tell them the problem is not fixed. they send technician come 3 times, with the last one from tmnet themselves with a machine that hooks up to my line and it really is capped at 512kbps.

i thought, okay.. things will be done soon enough, the tech told me it will have to wait 1 week. well, 2 weeks passed and i called them, they say they had already set it to 1mbps (my a$$!!). i called them again and again. then when i finally gave up hope and start to get busy with my life, chun chun 1 month later i receive a call from local telekom office, tell me to disconnect line for 20 min then reconnect back. Then its done!!

instead of being happy i'm like WTF??!! you only need 20 min to fix the prob while i waited for them for 14 weeks!! duh~~!!!

on the other hand, a friend of mine, same problem, write a super sarcastic email to tmnet and the second day a technician came, then everyting kautim 2 days later. I'm like wtf? again since our house is only 5 mins drive apart and whats with the different in service?

Wrong. Streamyx do have wireless service for both commercial and residential areas. Just go to any TMpoint outlet n ask.

I'm using Jaring Wireless Broadband. Service was good initially but now started to deteoriate. Customer support also declining. After my 1 year contract expires this April, I will terminate it.

Both Jaring and TMnet are useless... they can't provide broadband service in new areas. My area is a high class with semi-Ds and link houses worth over RM 700k to 1.5mil and yet, both providers aren't interested to provide decent broadband service. Instead, they went n concentrate in non-profitable areas. What a waste!

acbc,
The company was headed but fucked up people, the same kind as Fucky Value, Mahaleel, and all those fucked up kind of assholes who only gives a fuck about their damn selves. They are the forsaken creatures of the planet. They should die.

rollakid,
14 weeks? Not too bad compared to my 21 weeks and still counting. Wanna complain?

streamyx issue was long time debated over newspapers, open forums and somehow those hot shot at TM NEt never care to list down all our problems. .. all i can say .. they had always put a "server migration" clause everytime i called them regarding corporate line issues.. and it took few days, sometimes nearly a week for them to stable back the connection.. imagined.. the downtime was damn worst in fact a friend of mine subscribing maxis service experienced like not more than 12 hours of downtime.. (i know u'll say that maxis is diff story but what da heck?? streamyx was one of the pioneer for broadband service so they should by now improved all the necessity for the their customers) .. really dissapointed with their services ..

and the funny thing was they suggested me to subscribe lease line ( hahaha .. my comp buss not 24hours depending on internet connection so i dont think that's a good problem solving for your customers which cost big bomb !!) lease line for what?? paying them 60K a year to gain stable connection for the whole year??

crap...

Theres a trial 1mbps broadband from Jaring, worth a try. Cheaper somemore
anyways
my problem was:
initially my ADSL link wasnt stable during rainy days, so i called(at 11sth in the nite)
next day 9sth the Telekom (note not tmnuts) technician came and rewire from the tiang. Problem solved.

The next problem was the upload problem, my download's just fine, but my upload are caps to like 3-4kBps only. that makes P2P impossible, sometimes even surfing is affected. I call them, lodge a report. No responce.
I got angry so I call them once every 24hours. Then after the 15th (yes 15) call, problem solved. -_-"

Mine is oke untill now. just sometimes when the server down or such. still stable and running at best speed.. maybe coz im living new area, near city.

To all the guys who have had downtime problems with Streamyx, I feel your pain. I'm so dependent on the internet these days that even one day without it feels like an eternity (yeah, I know... I'm a nerd). So I can understand how you guys feel having to deal with crappy connections for such prolonged periods of time. But just for the record, everyone here is using the land line version of Streamyx right? Is there anyone here who is on wireless Streamyx?

Sepat,
how are you doing my man? Haven't chatted with you for a while. Nice to see you here.

kinki_kidz,
first of all, what's up with your nick man? sounds... errr.... kinky. Hahah... ok, the trial Jaring thingy that you mentioned, is it for the wireless service?

Actually I'm using Time's Webbit right now. 384kbps for RM69 a month, which by today's standards, is hell of a expensive. Which is why I'm looking into TM and Jaring's offerings which are much more value for money.

However, there's one thing that I must commend Time on their Webbit service and that is, it is 99% up and running smoothly. I've been using it for about 1 year now and I've never had to call them up once regarding a bad connection. My only complain would be the slow download speeds compared to Time's competitors.

acbc,
perhaps your area has become over saturated with Jaring users? Thus, the worsening line quality.

crazievitek,
I've never had problems with Streamyx and it was good and all till 25 Sept 2005. Since then, problem till today. And they get smacked by me each time I call. So I guess it's been about 50 times that I smacked them? Which happens to be just about that amount of times I called them.

Anyway, this is my test results from the TMFUCK website.
