Hello all,
i'm driving a Satria Gti and for the past few days, while driving i can feel my steering wheel is abit "light" feeling. for example, when you are driving, the GTI steering wheel feels abit heavier compared to other cars right ? and that gives the stable feeling.
but now mine is like "light" feeling. like i only need a little strength to turn the steering wheel while driving. But when at stop/idling, it feels OK. Also it is not "loose".

another thing i realized is, when turn my steering to take a corner, it doesn't come back. i would need to turn it back to straight position.

Any advice ?

previously i have encountered a problem like that but it was WORSE becouse i t had the "loose feeling" in the middle. suspected the steering collar bush ? but found out it was the whole steering rack is rosak. so had to change the whole thing.

really hope its not the same problem again .
could it be the alignment ? some bushing ??
please adivse...

thanks,

hmmm...i suspect your hydraulic line is partly clogged up resulting in a slight increased in fluid pressure but not high enough to activate the pressure relief valve....your observation that this problem disappears when the pump is idling (ie. under no-load conditions) confirms my hunch...

nonetheless, in order to confirm this, you have to get a mechanic to inspect whether the operating pressures are within specified values and if its exceeds the set relief pressure, then i guess they will know what to do next...good luck..:stupido2:
