squealing brakes

got the urethane coat and sprayed the shims....squeaks, squeals, moans are gone so far...hopefully it doesnt come back though....the urethane spray car is quite a bitch after a few sprays...it tends to get stuck and the urethane suddenly comes out spraying to ur hands from under the cap...anyway results are proven...hopefully it keeps itself that way for a long long time:itsme:

damn.....squealing is back....like before only at low speeds...slightly less though...but not happy about it...

hi frootloops,

do you mind to share what type of brake do you use at this moment...
coz my brake also giving the same problem..

mine: Brembo 4 port (front)

Currently running on brembos with Delphi lockheed pads...the squealing reduced but still there sometimes

its way better compared to before...its just that i hoped the squeals will never come back...now its there once in a while...

hi guys,

are the squeals sound cause by the brake pad?
last 3 weeks ago i just skimmed the disc (light skimmed). that time no problem.
then after install new brake pad (after market brand: DON made in UK...)
the squealing sound appear.... :banghead:

annoying when stopping at traffic light or slow ride or drive in traffic jammed...:banghead:
sound very loud sometimes... people always look at you... what the hell....

the mech suggest me to change to original brembo pad and the problem will be solve...:hmmmm:
but.... at the moment no budget left to change again....

might be frootloops also need to change the brake pad....???

pangyau..
i did the same..skimmed the disc, changed to aftermarket pads etc..it stopped for a while but then it came back within few weeks..

i believe this happens to other braking kits as well..not only brembo..my friend's Wish also experiencing the same with his oem brakes..so the prob is not from the brand i guess..

and an advise from my mech..if u wash ur car while ur brakes are still hot..pls don't spray water on the discs if u intend to clean ur rims..let them cooldown 1st..or else ur pads will stick to the disc's surfaces after a while..

Come to think from what you said..i always go to the drive thru car wash...maybe that's why my brakes squeak always..

The bedding in process is also very important. Squeals are cause by irregular friction between pads and rotors.

Fruity : Spray another 1-2 layers to the shims, lightly sand the pads a bit and then re-bed in the pads. will drop the squeal frequency to "once a blue moon". : )

yeah bro..when the pads stick to ur discs..then u'll have an uneven surfaces when they disengage & when ur discs start moving..

i noticed that there's an uneven pattern on my rotors...could this be the reason it squeals...all 4 rotors hv just been skimmed though

uneven patterns would mean bad bedding-in. If will develop into grooves that makes it worst.
