Guys, i have a spyware problem.

It's not a virus but a programme.

Do any of u know where i can find the solution?

you can try spybot - search and destroy

http://www.safer-networking.org/en/index.html

usually when spyware is installed a whole other bunch of stuff will be installed
eg. virus, trojan, adware, pugi etc etc etc
as i hv just experienced recently

before u do anything
make sure u do the following:
1. turn off system restore so all the bad files will not be replicated.
control panel--->system--->system restore tab----> check the box "turn off system restore on all drives"
2. delete all your temp files, internet temp including offline files, cookies. basically everything that's temp. delete em. go fishing for them in your docs and settings folder. if you hv multiple accounts do they same for their accounts as well.
---------
next do the following:
1. run an anti-virus scan. use whatever prog you hv. if you dont hv one u can use a free antivirus scan by panda.
http://www.pandasoftware.com/activescan/com/activescan_principal.htm

2.run a antispyware/adware scan.
your options:
a)adaware http://www.lavasoftusa.com/software/adaware/
b)spyware search & destroy http://www.safer-networking.org/en/index.html
c) giant antispy http://www.giantcompany.com/(gveioh45d2oll...0)/default.aspx
if you hv the time, run all three.
----------
you should be free of em by now.
if not. get back to us and we'll let you know the next few things u'll need to do then.

god speed

usually if you have a clue of what spyware it is it would be easier to do counter measures.

sometimes anti-virus and anti-spyware programs can tell you what it is but cannot solve the problems automatically, so you gotta get your hands dirty abit.

very true
like in my case

i had to go fishing on my computer and on google.
but later giant antispy solved the prob.

i think it's better than spybot s&d but it's not free.
it's a freeware for 14days

yeap....even ad-aware paid version got more features.

well unless emergency just keep and run ad-aware and spyboy once every 2-3weeks and get the latest updates asap.

i depend on my router firewall/nap/spybot/ad-aware/norton only unless special cases, but at least spyware isn't so bad as viruses you can still use your computer and remove it without causing more harm. certain viruses even block antivirus scanners and/or fake it so the scanner thinks its not there but it is ;)

TQ guys.

Already cleaned the PC thks to your advice and knowledge.

Tried a no. the items suggested and it all works.

Thks again.

No problem ;)
Remember to use the inoculate function so spyware cannot install themselves into your system, well unless its a new undiscovered one that is.
