QB the looks can really tell....fc looks boxy and fd look roundy....very big difference once u see both of it u will know which is FD and FC....FD look alot nicer though....
a simpler way.
FC has air scoop and more straight shape. rear lights kindda straight line.
FD doesnt have air scoop and more rounded. rear lights looks like 180sx old model and usually tinted and has a very blackish look.
Also you'll find the FC is taller and the FD is shorter.
Hope this helps.
Oooooooo...but in term of performance, FC tho not as cool lookin as FD...is betta than FD rite? FD is juz da look, rite? Correct me if I'm wrong. I juz heard bout diz statement from a fren. Cheerz
There aren't any FA's but there are FB's. The first generation rx7's are split between being called sa22c's and FB3S's. Then you got the FC then the FD and the chassis code for the RX-8 is actually FE.
The FD and FC's are almost totally different cars yet similar due to the same engineering concepts used to design both.
Some differences
- FDs have somewhat of a front mount intercooler (less heat soak) while the FC have a top mount intercooler
- FDs have Torsen type LSD, Zenki FCs have clutch type LSD, Kouki FC has viscous type LSD
- FDs have Sequential twin turbo, FC has a single turbocharger
- FDs have solid corner seals
- Rotors get lighter as the models progressed and compression ratios are different
- FD engine 13B-REW has different engine mount locations than the FC's 13BT
- FDs have Beefed up housings (capable of handling higher hp)
- FDs have different intake manifold and throttlebody design
- FDs and FCs have different suspension geometry
- FDs have 550cc primary injectors and 850cc secondary injectors while FCs have 550cc injectors for both primary and secondary
- 13B-REW has a more efficient design and have only 2 oil injector holes while FCs have 4 oil injector holes
- FCs have a dynamic rear suspension while the FD does not
- FD stock offset is +50 FC stock offset is +40
