R3 Sequential Gearbox

Well when i witness the R3 paired with sequential G/B it has a 'tick' 'tick' sound when engaging.lots of wheel spin from both the R3's putra and GTI.I think if they have this G/B i might consider getting one.

Apologize if i'm asking a stupid question...

Can it adj the final gear ratio by computer?
Or maybe is it a computerized GB?
No matter adj the individual gear ratio or final gear ratio?

don't think they sell with the housing, just the assembly inside and selector forks (taken from PPG , don't know about R3).

why install straight cut gears if don't get the dog engagement ? although the whinning sounds is supperb. like a superchager  straight cut give none improvement to any type of engine, it's a reliability thing. Dog engagement also doesn't give any improvement but like u change gears without clutching saves time(important in drag). my 2cent ...

if mistaken sorry.:adore:

i think its possible... u jz replace helical cut gears with straight cut gears.... the problem is u dunno where got factory can do cnc machining for forged straight cut gear sets...

If can get a malaysian made dog box would be superb.no more worries in traffic jams.

Oh u mean there is still clucth.Darn!haha i thought it's just like tiptronic but better.

sequential as mentioned here would only benefit competition applications. Unless of course it is a DSG or PDK or other commercial applications by other manufacturers so far. If installed i bet you daily driving and comfort will suffer.

DSG in vw is good. but d DKG with wet clutch in e92 m3 is better. gear changing is almost w/o lag n jerk (depending on d gear shift adjustment selected by d driver) no matter low or high revs, it run through all d gears better than a cvt g/b. damn

p/s : dogbox need to use d clutch 2 engage 1st n R gear only. others just free to run thru. n d sound is superb. just like a high revving electric control car sound. hehehe. n its true when u changing gears w/o pressing d clutch on a dogbox, u can hear a loud "gruud graad" sound. almost like d gb want 2 pecah

Well like i said it all depends on application and use of the vehicle. If it is a track car only then its a good investment. But if you use your car daily then do the track on weekends I doubt you want to have a burning left calf~ the GB not only will make noise but generate a lot of heat into the cabin as well. Unless you go with the continental and Italian makes that is a different story.:wavey:

Oh haha then if for a daily driven car no need dogbox la.
but i'm still puzzle as to what the R3 guys have.heard it's clutchless and when they engage gear it sounds like 'tick'...............'tick'
