As per subject, thinking of getting piggy back for Mark X 250G. Which one is the best value for the money? Budget Appreciate any input.

Emanage blue is less precise for tuning because all it does is tricking the signal from map sensor and ignition coil.. Ultimate can send a direct signal to the crank signal for a more precise and stable tune up.. But it's like double the price
 
Combined highway & city, only some times full gas, but does that matter? My aim is just to optimize the power across the board, not to have a peaky top end. Not trying to be too ambitious, just thinking to reach at least 90HP/ltr (or around 225HP) with a broad power band. Stock engine spec is rated at about 210-215HP.

Since your not too ambitious... Emanage blue or m7 em-con...

E-manage, or any other piggyback can ONLY tune fuel in open loop. It does absolutely nothing for closed loop. If you drive in closed loop 90% of the time, it means the e-manage is only useful 10% of the time. If your driving pattern always pedal to the metal then go for it.. otherwise, ask yourself if its worth it...

I do believe Mark X 250G has a valid OBD II port, like Toyota Vios. Find out if that tool/software allows you to see open loop and closed loop transition..then you can see your own driving pattern..and ask yourself will e-manage benefit your driving. Of course that tool allows you to see other stuff like water temp, STFT, LTFT etc.

do u just plug the bluetooth device to the ecu?
 
I would like to add that, if I am not mistaken, the Mark X runs on a CAN-BUS management system. Very much like the Euro spec vehicles and it is relatively difficult to wire in an EManage Blue. I have personally tried to do this with my old EManage blue (Which is for sale) and found out that it would not support the majority of the wiring points in the Mark X GRX120 2.5L V6 ECU harness. Most would suggest that you go for the ultimate version. But in all honesty, you're better off saving for a longer time for a more reliable solution like the M800 Motec or a similar standalone ECU that would take care of most parameters (DISCLAIMER: Motec systems sound expensive, but you'll have a ball of a time scraping more money for the sensors needed to run the system.).

Have you managed to remove the 180kph speed limiter? I just join the Singapore Mark X forum and seems there's a piggy back that's very popular there too but seems to be custom made. Do you know about this? If you check in youtube, there's also a workshop in Singapore who managed to setup the Ultimate for Mark X.
 
The only plug and play option is the HKS VAC that would set you back RM3k+. The singaporeans had a way to modify the RSM to suit the MarkX ecu. Try that at your own risk. I'm not saying that it wont work, but you'll need someone that knows exactly how to do it to maintain all the fail safes in built into the RSM and the stock ecu.

Yeah I know about the VAC, seems just way too expensive to just remove speed limiter. I know also about the RSM which can cause the transmission to get stuck. But I heard Tom's/Vision Auto Bangsar can remap the ECU & remove the limiter as well, have you ever check them out?
 
Not exactly. Sounds like we should check them out. If its a proper remap with a much more efficient base map tune, it might just be worth it with IHE mods to take full potential of a remapped base tune.

ixeo..please help..I thought most OEM cars are tuned to run closed loop o2 on partial throttle driving to get the best gas mileage, and then run open loop on WOT to be sure the motor runs the safest it can, and that the factory fuel map is not modified in any way. Closed loop is when the ECU does refer to the o2 sensor for feedback right?

and I do believe that there are some piggyback like haltech platinum interceptor and emanage ultimate do have close loop tuning. right?

err I seem to be confused here

Imo, best solution for ur need is the remap/reflash. This way u can tune for dat extra squeeze of power & get some extra mileage from ur closed loop fuel table.
Can-bus not worthy messing with piggy backs. Unless ur prepared to go full standalone like Haltech ps100 dat can interface with d factory can bus sys + provide u full control of ur 1/2uzfe.

Yes you are right about closed loop. Yes E-Manage Ultimate claims to be able to do closed loop, but I am not sure how it is done. No idea about Haltech Platinum Interceptor.

I think the best thing to do would be to wire a Haltech Platinum Sport 1000 in and have full control. Why pay RM2k+ for half ass job? RM5k+ for the PS1000 and you are in the driver's seat. Either do it right or don't do it at all.
