Hi all.. just wanna ask u all.. whats the nice RPM to shift gear up for wira 1.5 manual? from gear 1>2>3>4 and to gear 5. some may say based on "sound" or others. any suggestions for this. whats the nice peak rpm before shift up?

Thanks in advance?

at anywhere from 5000 to 6000 RPM...
Coz, they stated that a 1.5GL max output is abt 66kw/6000rpm with a 120-126nm at 3000RPM..

but dont do it at the 1st gear... the sound sux!

i think it should be at 6500-7000...cos ur max bhw was drop a little at the range from 6000-7000, compare to the slowy increase of bhp until rpm6000. so after u changed gear, ur rpm will still maintain at around 5+++, so the bhp is totally supported for continual accelerating..

no need to shift @high rev....waste ur petrol n money

shift@ 3k is enaf

if wanna drag..shft @6300 depand on ur mod

Generally, I think it depends on where your maximum output of power is or is it the torque? Not too sure though.

Anyway, the goal is to maintain the RPM at or near the point where the engine produces maximum output. So say if the Wira produces 66kW@6000rpm I suppose we can shift at about 6500rpm to ensure that the rev is still near 6000rpm after the shift.

Just my two cents. I might be wrong and do correct me, gurus. I am not too sure if we should be looking at the power or torque output already. Or is it about compromising both to get the best performance? Not too sure though, anyone care to enlighten me on this since we are on the topic? :D

i normally shift up at 3k on urban road...
but on highway is higher lar... i found out that my exhaust note is best about 3k~4k rpm... wahahahaha...

oh.. thanks.. i was about to think the best is around 4k.... wah....so high... will take notice then. my car start giving power after 2500rpm. i do agree high rev use more petrol so thats why if i want to play play.. i go shell for blue power, fill in rm 10 then finish it. for long journey (or broke) i use normal one.hehe..

not so many road in ipoh can try high rev..

for drag
I upshift when i feel the power starts to taper off, that'll ensure hitting the "sweet spot" faster on the next gears..

Dyno in sunway area got alot N1 GT autos or links... u should get a good idea of your car's horsepower and ur peak torque n horsepower...

Shifting gears at 3000RPM is the best for fuel saving.... but it depends on different individuals and car cubic capacity... for yours shifting at 3k is the best for moderate driving... for fast pick up best shifted at 5.5k.... I drive WISE.... best fuel consumption if shifted below 3k for city driving...
