Need techy advice

Bro mADmAN.
About the Crome, my question is:
1) How does it work? Izit remapping the base map on ECU?
2) Can it does multi profile mapping? For example below 3kRpm is different profile, above 3k Rpm is another different profile.
3) Since it doesnt need piggybacking, can i done it on my rechipped old P08 ECU? I had 1 ECU from my old auto D15B Vtec.

1/ not sure... but basically ur ori chip is thrown into the trash and a new chip is put in... its basically re-chipping ur ECU... but with a map that is specifically for ur engine. not some unknown map chip...branded or not.
2/ dont think so... but tuning can be done at multiple RPMs...
3/ should be... afaik it works with OBD1 ECUs

I've checked out the crome with buddies over here in Kch. A few garage here do it, but a lotta Hondarian here still stick to E-Manage n Hondata. But they tell me if i wan to utilise the full function of Crome, i should change a few parts i.e intake, headers, fuel rail so i may feel d differences over stock B16A. Cuz i got a fren, using B16A, modded with Skunk2 IM, Skunk2 TB, AEM Fuel Rail, SARD Fuel Regulator, Complete 5Zigen ProRacer exhaust system and ITR Injector. But still my stock B16A can catch up with him on the rear bumper. Furthermore he complaint his Fuel Consumption going up. Not to say dat my ride is fast, its just dat i told him he need an engine management to tune all dat mods. He wont believe me. Cuz he said its not extreme enough to need a management. But IMHO, since all dat mods already alter his stock rate of A/F Ratio, air intake per/sec, etc so he do need a management. Wat say u bro?

Yes, agree… Since he had done the ground work and just because of a suitable ecu to link all together.
This we call the power of 1+1>3…:smokin:

Dat is y rite now im savin my cash to.buy a new managemnt. Either E-Manage or Hondata, but scared also cuz ders lotta Ciplak E-Manage out der. For Hondata, i would go for it if d price is around 1k+. Den i'll go for ITR IM+TB+ITR injector. Assemble n get it tuned properly. :smokin:

Need a techy advice on my EG8 setup. Currently running '92 EG8 with B16A halfcut from '94 EG6(black dash). My current setup was Open Pod K&N air filter, ITR headers with 2.3" pipe, mid bullet and 5Zigen Fireball muffler, NGK R08 with NGK Iridium and rechipped P30 ECU(9k Cut, No TopSpeed Limiter, done by previous owner).

So now, since everything else was standard kilang, which intake suits me most? Im thinkin about OEM replacement which is ITR intake. Or CTR. How was ITR compared to Skunk2 intake in terms of performance and price?

Go for ITR's intake. I believe they are cheaper. Skunk2 is pretty much based on the ITR's intake anyway. Or Edelbrock's VictorX/PerformerX..if got money ler since they are way more expensive

And for Camshaft, im thinkin of CTR camshaft. IF i do the replacement, would it effect my block? If im usin ITR intake+CTR csmshaft, do i have to change my pistons too?

The camshaft would be better suited to a high CR, which means you'll need the PCT pistons from the CTR. Stock pistons would render the camshaft useless. So you'll need to change valve, spring, etc2..so if I were you, camshaft is one of the 'final mods' I would do.

Another thing, how about my exhaust pipe diameter? Is 2" good for B16A? Cuz my current 2.3" i've taken it from my fren, PnP to my EG from his B16B EG.

2" and 2.3" should be ok I think...not so sure

Hondata is an overkill for your current setup IMO (unless you can afford it and thinking long term la). Go for Chrome la, cheap and good. The trouble with Chrome is, if you more do more mods to the engine after installing the Chromo chip, you have to bin the chip and tune a new chip to suit your new setup.

If I were you, I'll go for the IHE mods (Intake = ITR+ good ol' CAI, Header = Ikut budget lol, Exhaust = 2.3" maybe) plus Chrome/E-manage first. Get that done, then think of pistons, rods, cams etc cause these are rather expensive.

Thanks bro.

I've consulted a few garage owner and they precisely said d same thing as urs. "Unless if u wan to let ur piston ring hancur". Lol. So, i'll go for ITR IM+TB which i managed to fetch for RM7xx. And for management, i think i'll just go for E-Manage. Cuz since diz car are opted for daily drive and a few street run, so it'll take a long time for me to go for heavier mods. So, if next time i'll do upgrade, E-Manage is der to handle it. Bout my exhaust, i'll just stick to diz 2.3". Maybe juz looking for replacement headers since my ITR headers dented oredi. :argh: Off topic a while, i recently changed me e-oil to Eneos 10/40 Molybdenum. It feels smooth and easier to accelerate. Bfore diz i used Pennzzoil,. First day using Pennzoil, feel heavy n sluggish. VTEC kick also not as strong as bfore. Wit Eneos now, it feels better.

Yo bro, I'm from Kch too. If a good tuner for hondata is what u are looking for, I'll recommend u my mec, ah sin at the workshop beside pro turbo at 5th mile. Do drop by a yell or two in our Kuching thread here. I'm sure u'll get more feedbacks from our kch hondarions and car enthusiasts:biggrin::slug:.

Hello guys.

I've decided to get E-Manage that day, and luck is not on my side. My P-30 ECU seems cannot go with E-Manage Blue. Everytime it runs above 4k RPM, CEL will go out. So, what my tuner does is, change my old chip to Crome while he redeem back my cash on that used E-Manage. So, with my basic setup of ITR Headers, 2" pipe with RS-R Magic muffler, Open Pod AI with K&N Filters and NGK R08 cables with NGK Iridium IX BKR7E on my B16A, my first run without tuning is 144.3HP. Then the tuner add minus here and there it drop to 141.5HP with 13.47 Torque. And it starts there. Finally i gained approx 9-10HP on that basic setup. Took him for about 20-30Mins to hit that number with 14 runs of dyno. I attached together my final dyno result. What i feel after tuning is, it feels better during cruising, more powerful during high-cam operation compare to before and better fuel consumption. I've managed to clock 480km for RM60 of petrol.

Will update it again soon as i changed my setup. Special thanks to bro mADmaN on his introduction for Crome. Cheers.

woooooooo....look at that...very nice and healthy B16A u got there....

and look at the before and after graphs... can see the crome smoothened out ur engine very nicely...no more jagged lines

congrats!

Thanks bro,

And special thanks to u cuz introducing me to Crome. At 1st, i hesitate about it since i've never heard of it. But once i ask my tuner, "How about if I go Crome?". He told me that a few people here uses Crome cuz they opt for piggybacking but why not give it a try. So there it is. I've managed to free a bit of my factory restricted HP. :driver:

how much did the crome cost u over there inclusive install+dynotune? should be cheaper than the e-manage right?

Those used E-Manage complete with Ig. Harness cost me about RM750+install, plus dyno+tuning is RM200. So, since it was returned by the seller, so i get back my RM950. Since my ECU already chipped, all they need is to dump the old chip and burned the new one. Simply plug and play. Cost me RM350 for tuning+Dyno. But the result is simply wonderful. :adore:

same price i got mine too.... if no chip have to add rm100 to make the chip socket
