NA Blow Off Valve Sound

Actually the boost that produce by Supercharge and Turbocharge wont it be same?? Only SC boost abit less than Turbo. Mean while? The boost also produce when the rpm idle isn't it?

nope... idle no boost... SC n TC not the same... SC direct drive - linear boost.. the power delivery is like NA... TC is boosted by the exhaust gas which has some lag depending on the turbine size...

when the throttle close.. the rpm will go down... means the boost will go down too... it is pretty much like NA... and somemore SC boost is not as high as turbo...

turbo need a blowoff bcos the boost is the spooled gas from the exhaust momentum which is a delayed boost... on the other hand.. SC u get the boost from the engine crank... which is direct drive... hope u get what i mean..

I get what u meant.... But think this way... 2 things that happens immediately are, the throttle closes and the manifold absolute pressure turns vacumm. However, the RPM does not. It goes down slowly, thus the intercooler piping system is still under compression...

I've already review one of my customer's BOSC on 4G13 with only 0.4 bars... Still activate the BOV. Soft sound. May not be necessary, but still workable...

Now he's doing a 4G15 with higher boost. And let's see what turns up when the project completes...

well.. i'm no sifu of forced induction... so that is what i know la...

the purpose of BOV is to dump the boost when the throttle plate is closed... to protect the TB and turbine from damaged... but for SC.. the boost is low and i guess it is not necessary for a BOV....

Bump: did some reading from the net... a SC system uses a "bypass valve" instead of BOV...

however a BOV would still work in a SC system..

Bypass valve aka Blow In valve...
It's to protect the compressor fin...

Yeah, that's what i am talking about...

wah ken.. ur idea really good ah...

funny topic to be read...

i really tot that you guys are really discussing the so called "NA turbo" though.

i heard a few people mention this NA Turbo
"my brother runs a NA Turbo"
"my cousin runs a NA Turbo"
"my uncle runs a kancil TWIN TURBO"
"my fren runs a mini TWIN TURBO"
"I want to put NOS inside my car"

hehehe, i dnt know why, bt among newbies, the word NOS, TWIN TURBO, N/A TURBO are quite common, maybe cos it sounds chun ?

NA is NA.. Turbo is Turbo... how can it be NA turbo?? :thefinger:

MIahahahah... You're rite bro.... NA = NA lor, Turbo mae Turbo lor...

Kakaka.. U sounded Pissed...

BOT on NA engine means turbocharging the engine, can never be an NA with the snail there....

Maybe they are talking about the NA TUrbo means NA engine with Intercooler mounted but unattached ... TURBO wannabe NAs.... Keke...
