Myvi 1.5 rim change suggestion

If not too low then is okay. Not only the spring strength and rebound rate but if the springs makes it too low the original absorber not working it's full length.
......

Yeap, if too low then the std absorbers will also be too compressed and will risk bottoming out.

If the lowered springs are hard type will not bottom out, but std absorber will die faster.....

i just wish to make my myvi look nice... may be i should consider about 15" for handling and acceleration wont sacrifice much ... plan to use eibach with stock abs and see how.... still my heart want to go for 16" lol...

Save $$$...change to adjustable...and concerning the rim size...15" and 16" vry big difference in pricing as well. Unless u're not on budget when it comes to tyre changing, then you might consider 16". But both will increase ur fuel consumption no matter how. So pump more budget and get a set of really light wheels

guys, im thinking of changing the rim for my 1.5 myvi... current stock rim 14" seem bit small... im targeting to make my car front 2 finger gap, rear 3 finger gap... but before i decided to change the rim, i think it's better for me to change to a lowering spring, eibach... by using eibach, which size of rim should i put to make my ideal finger gap between the tire and fender? is 195/50/R16 gonna make huge changes in fc and acceleration? i wish the new rim gonna make it look flush from the fender and the wheel side... :adore::hmmmm:

wow..... i learn so much from you:adore:... thx bro... im not really pro about wheels.. but im expecting for 2~3 finger gap to each wheel... some more R15 not much nice looking design right? i love the type of rim which their spoke is curve outward:rofl:.. any suggestion? my car is white color, so i prefer matte black or full black color of rims... :burnout: would like to hear from your opinions:burnout:

2.5 finger gap also no problem... hehehe.... but then i wish to get nice rim that spoke curve outward... and also im expecting the rim offset which able to make the side of the wheel flush ngam ngam with the fender for this new myvi... so which rim got outward spoke , offset flush ngam ngam with fender in 15"? advan RZ? SSR type F?:hmmmm: :adore:

Bro, if you want SPECIFICALLY that amount of gap, please la go get coilovers. Springs sag after installation, if you buy eibach's and after they settle in and it doesnt look the way you want you're going to waste a lot of money. Highly recommend HWL's, cheap and good. Suspension geometry isnt measured by fingers, but if you want to do that might as well get something that can be adjusted right?

I cant tell if you're new to the modding, but 15" wheels have TONS of choices. How often do you see 16" wheels?

So you want a wheel that the spokes curve outwards, a 'flush offset' and im guessing you want it cheap also right? Advan RS replica's in 15, just get it with the lowest offset number, you'll achieve that flush look while on a budget. But its not gonna be flush without some sort of height adjustment in your suspension...

Like bro. cvkit mentioned rims & tyres in 16" or even 17" will cost much more. Rims are one time purchase but tyres will be on going. 17 will look the best then 16". 15" will be normal looking but easier on maintenance.
For handling and acceleration 195/50R15 will be better. 55 series diameter is 2.1% bigger that your original tyres. However 55 series will be more comfortable....
For 16" the diameter is only 1.34% bigger, but because of the tyre width of 205, friction and rolling resistance will set in.
So all depends on what you want and what budget you will throw in.....

Yup, agree with bro. wagon, with adjustable (but more costly), you can play with height, spring rate, rebound rate and so on.

I think he like the look of 16" with ultra low profile tyres....

If going for 15" rims, actually should get those with spokes reaching the rim edge. This will give an illusion that the wheels looks bigger.....:driver:

:adore: thx for the advise, i should really go to look around for the 15" rim now

Consider the Advanti Storm series rims. 15" rims are only 4.6kg in terms of weight and are pretty strong. Not as light as Enkei RPxx rims but way better than most Taiwan/local alternatives.

any idea what's the price?

Lightweight as many places hollowed out, even the center area....

Is that a bad thing? Mine's taken quite a lot of beating already with 195/55/15 tyres. So far so good.

Nope, did not say it is bad. Hollow out due to part of design to lighten the rims. As long as the material is strong and able the withstand the punishment.....

But with hollow sections, the risk of damage is higher. Used BSA rims before for my old car, after many high speed pot holes, rim was dented quite badly.

That is why depends on the material. If not, then those with 5 thin spokes not as strong as the one with thick spokes??

saw one matte black, should be nice to match with my white myvi...:proud:

When you go to the shop to check out the rims, get them to place the rims at the wheels of your car. Some have these black cloth where they will cover the back of the rims so that when place at your car wheels will block of the view of your old set, then you can look at the new design whether match your car or not.....:driver:
