2005.Sept.10: Full service my car.

2005.Nov.12: Bought a full set of OEM Mazda clucth and replace my old one.

2006.Jan.14: Service my car. Additional maintenance, service throttle body and service the starter.

2006.Feb.04: Change fan belt bearing, service front brakes, add a new starter relay. Adding the relay helps the car to fire up immediately.

2006.Feb.10: Installed my newly bought Walbro fuel pump. Reason for changing a new fuel pump, stay tune in my next posting.

2006.Jun.05: Smoking twin turbo! Replaced it with a used good condition unit. At the same time, change all vacm. hose to samco silicon hoses.

2006.Jun.24: Service my car.

2006.Nov.02: Full service my car.

2007.Jan.04: Change top/low clutch kitz and installed top/bottom silicon radiator hose. I got those hose from eBay for about US$60+ I think or less, can't remember.

2007.Feb.23: Service my car.

Bad fuel pump?

Archive message.

  1. I have this weird problem. When ever I shut down my car (await for the turbo timer to count down) my idle would be lumpy (goes up and down) and sometimes would die off. BUT, if I insert the key in and turn into ON position, everything would be fine. Why is it so?
  2. I'm experiencing jerks during positive boost. (maybe around 0.1-0.3) I'm very sure is not the ON boost jerk coz it jerk a few times. What could be the reason? Fuel filter just change few mths back.
    1. Some extra information
    2. Exhaust temp, degree celsius
    3. On idle: 400
    4. Normal driving:500-600
    5. Hard Drive:>600 ~ LIST]
    At last, my problem solved.

Did a check at fuel pump wiring voltage. Everything is oke. Last resort was to look at the fuel pump resistor. We are not sure how to check if the resistor is in perfect working condition, so we switch to another resistor. But it didn't solve the problem. So out of curiosity, I did a voltage check on the wire connecting to the resistor. I'm getting about 10v+/-. So I guess this is the culprit. It is not powering enought voltage to the fuel pump resistor.

So I by pass the fuel pump resistor and rewire the fuel pump to get 12v from batt source with a relay.

    Violaaaaa, problem solved!!!!

Adjust TPS

Both me and Jim did TPS tuning. We have great results. Smoother idle and better low end/rev rides.
