It depends on what class, what car, and what specs u want for the car. But For Endurance race, theres is no savings especially on new parts and performance parts for the car. Easy to say, most of the components have to be new in order for the car to survive the grueling 12 hr race.
I have a friend whose his putra has the fuel pump failing on the 11th hour and his race ended like that.

havent kira engine and gearbox preparation, suspension setting and testing costs, fuel for the car, fuel and food for urself and the crew, baring any mishaps.
