Drift...i beg to differ....ask from embassy? does the embassy have the channel for this kind of issues? nope i dont think so....if we want to perform Lion dance during CNY does we need to ask permissions from Chinese Embassy? if we do they will probably only laugh at us. Now the documentary is about batik..we agreed that batik is from indonesia....but we also inherit the traditions dont we...when we inherit,,,why the f*ck should we ask for permissions?

anyway first of all we dont do pendet dance here...its hindu's tradition...most malay are muslim so it is prohibited to practice this since it could be consider as blasphemy....but this is just one issues..there are many others...

well i get ur point... but i know norman can get permission from Indonesia cultural or menteri kebudayaan regarding on the dance or batik.. since he said cannot get permission.. he is making a historical show.. i remembered most shows are permission n even had their country n embassy stated (correct me if i am wrong)

we do have tradition as well... but one thing... sometimes i dont get why indonesia can be sooo emotional over this.. (sorry to indonesians)

not sure if there is a channel for norman to get permissions....but to my undestanding....we inherit the culture...that meant we dont have to ask permissions from anybody...unless the Indonesian government patent the "culture"....

I agree that they are too emotionals....if they are angry about ambalats issue and their ppls were mistreated here in malaysia i would understand.....but abaout dances? songs? rendangs? musical instruments?....

i cant say Norman is the culprit....ill say it is Discovery channel....becoz not in any part of the documnetary show pendet dance....except in the ads which is done by discovery channel themselves
