i m planning to buy a laptop... not sure which one to buy... hehe my budget is around 4-5k... as long as it can use auto cad and still wont lag is ok to me... wat do you guys think about the ferrari 1000?/

y note take ibook?
same nearly tat price. n it is use for good graphic and it has window n mac function...

expansive ler... might buy the ferrari wan... good ah that model? i wan it full black ler...

sony is good... but depends on the specs lo..
not all sony specs is good...

Sony is very slick in design, go for it...
Latest spec is CORE 2 DUO ..don't mistaken with people saying DUO CORE/CORE DUO.
At lease 1Gb RAM...The rest is pretty standard, modem,WiFi, Cam...60/80GB Hard Disk.
Be aware that it's not a gaming machine if it do not have a dedicated graphic card.

IBM Thinkpads are the best Laptops around .. im using my companies ThinkPad R51 .. reliable than any other competitors around ..with price may slightly expensive about MYR300 - MYR500.

Cheers!

you pay more but you get better laptop. ur budget is around 4 to 5k. apple the cheapest is around 4k only.

hehe ok ok... i m now considering sony vaio or apple... i wana buy full black.... kekeke but if daddy is with me, i dont think i will get the chance to buy the 4k apple... he prefer me using the 10k wan... sob sob...

deedee,
Since you're going to do CAD, I think it's better for you to get a minimum of a dual core processor with dedicated graphics processor. For example, an AMD or Intel dual core with Nvidia graphics chip with at least 128MB or 256MB of RAM (graphics RAM). Put in also at least 1GB of system RAM. I think that'll be a good start up.

The Toshiba Qosmio series looks good to go.

i dont think so.... 1 Gb of ram is so small...
... so y not take 8GB on both drives

N what i suggest for a best use lap top, u need to rebuilt everything.
except for MAC!!!
