Is it the stacks or just a coincidence...?

Browsing through old youtube...then found that these 2 engine sound...almost the same...is it or is not?

one is running on 6 cylinder (L28) - Nissan

both using Velocity Stack...heee...Stack Stack...!!!

my question is...

is it the engine sound almost identical because of the VS or my hearing is worsen already ?

huh? i hear the L28 sound more smooth than the 4AGE le... got slight different only. My friend use VS also got that sound... I think you got the answer gua...

anyone car sound is determine by the VS(design),Camshaft,stroke,piston size,cc...weh banyak lagi aaaa but the trademark VS can almost sound identical in both car especially at low rpm.............kroookkkkkkkkkkkkkk

should be the stack, the sound of the air running through the throtter plate and resonance in the trumpet like stack make a sweet noise :D but i feel like the GTR's sound is smother than the 4age. just a bit ;)

well from what i understand... technically sound emitted from vs's shuld have a little differences... this is because of the different components and also configuration of the engine... however, they would sound almost the same if the bonnet is closed or if you are recording the sound from inside the car. this is due to the insulators in the car as well as being bounced off the engine compartment. the only way to know if there are actually differences or similarity is by using a db meter which is placed at a certain distance and angle from the vs for the both engines... i hope its not too technical

Chinozie, you got lousy speakers....hahaha. Can hear the difference la. The 6 cyl engine has higher pitch howl. The 4 cyl just sounds brappy. But both at the exhaust end sounds the same. Cam induced prang sounds.

Agree with gt20v at idle, they all sound the same. Up to V8. But V8 notorious for having imbalance cam sounds. Dunno why la. The reason for such sound is simple. The car chassis, intake and exhaust. If i could dissect a trumpet (The one for music one!) you can see the noise diaphram all the way to exit chamber. Wish acoustic was here. He can give a good description at sound projection.

But who cares if either one can cause bulu roma to naik? hahaha.
