How to know if the rear axle has LSD ??

Just wondering what is the best way to know if the axle has LSD ? for eg in this case ae86 axle ?? how to know got lsd if the axle is on the floor ie halfcut shop and also if the axle already pasang on the car how to check ??

Here how i checked mine.

Manually.
Turn the differential drive coupling while holding onto any 1 of the wheel hub.

If the other wheel hub turns, then its an open differential. If you can't turn the differential (if there is resistance felt ) then I think its LSD-ed.

Visually.
Open the drain nut and peek into the differential with a torch light (sometimes the seller or chop shop owner won't al'lw you to do this)

You ought to catch a glimpse of the differential whether is an open type or LSD.

Just turn the disc or wheel on one side and see whether is the other side turning the way which u r turning it or the other way(anti ur direction). If it is anti your direction it is a non LSD and if it is turning the way ur turning it is an LSD (i.e: if u r turning clockwise the other side must be turning clockwise from the view where u r turning the wheel).

Yolk KP61's way is the only sure way to test out if the rear axle has LSD. Both wheels left and right should turn the way u intended. Not one north and the other south like mine which doesn't have LSD. hahaha.
