Honda Civic 4D EK or ES

Hi All the Honda sifus... first of all i would like to pay respect to VTEC's owner... i would like to say i really dreamming to have my own honda civic too...
ok lets make it straight... i got some question in my mind that which honda to choose after 2yrs (2008)... dont ask me why i ask the question now... coz i really want to plan it well...
At 2008 those latest EK will be around 8-10yrs old while ES is 2-6yrs old.
EK having double-A suspension with D and B series engine (power & handling)
ES having McP suspension with D17A and K20A engine (comfort & styling)

Personally I really like the EK 99-00 model with the type R body kit with pearl white color... and my dream is having a NA B16A/B or B18C in it or Turbocharged D16A.
But i really donno the future of the these car, can it really last that long with spareparts available?
If i got got the civic EK after 2 yrs i will like to renew all the wear n tear parts and do neccessary modification tat i like on it.

For ES the reason tat i choose is bcoz it looks nicer n still young compare to EK series. I know D17A is not too powerful and no major modification can be done unlike the B series engine.

Bottom line i would like to get a civic with around 170-200HP after two years tat still worth to own for another 3-5yrs.
So whats your sifu recommendation EK or ES?
 
For me definately EK. U don need to care about the spare parts availability first as all the EF/EG parts are still in production. Some not critical parts like bodykits may be stopped production already lah.

bro sasuke... do you think after two years EK still popular in Msia...
i think the BOT kit will be more affordable n matual after 2yrs as now BOT civic is very popular in taiwan...
i really consider of BOT on D16A engine with low boost... it will give about 200hp with original engine...
 
Definately won't legal.

After 2 years? For me EK forever. It's all depends on u how to see it. There are still many Hondarian on EF and EG... I'm still crazy on EK, coz I felt I'm very satisfy with it. If u are that type of person always hungry for power only. Get turbo car, NA will not satisfy u. If u already like new style and design, get new car and EK won't stick u for long.
 
thanks for the comment sasuke... i thought turbo is legal on the road...
if we keep our profile low with hidden intercooler i think we can cheat the police off...kekeke... VTEC still NA king...

agree with avant... if u have them money go for ES 2.0 with full bodykit (RX) or if you have more money... buy the current type R le 4-door car... can use to ferry kids oso

2 years is quite long away.. by the time you reach 2008, your interest might change.. everybody else will drive one.. and may be quite hard to find a good car from the first owner oso, since most of them already got convertd/modified/trashed by the second/third/fourth owners...

Get one, NOW!

thank for all the sifu reply... i also hope to get one now... but since my brother going to take over my car so i got to wait untill he graduated... i can take this period of time to plan n think wat to mod on the car... i really dream of having a civic like you all....

Any comment if D16A BOT with TD04 low boost 0.5-0.8bar?
 
i personally prefer Honda EK, but ES 2.0 facelifted model is a not bad car too...
chuck in k20a1 into the ES maybe, if u want power..
stability wise, i think EK is better than ES.. correct me if i'm wrong..

seems like EK is the best choice... want to ask the sifu... is any Civic 99-00 EK model got Manua Transmission?
 
There's no EJ9 comes with manual transmission and auto single cam vtec, unless u can get EK4 year 99-00 imported from japan :regular_smile:

oic... so is it easier to get EK4 from japan or do a auto transmission convertion?
any problesm from auto to manual?
 
HMMM... in 2008 u will not even buy any of these cars...
that time dc2R will b around 45+ to 50+....
n its tempting...

then, u start talking again which one to choose..

DC2 is really tempting but by tat time i already a family man... so maybe DC2 is just a 2nd car lah... so civic 4D still the main choice coz not everyday we go racing rite? sometimes we just want to own something tat are more powerful than others... hehehe
