HELP : Mazda MX-6 Modification

Greetings to every sifu out there.
I just bought a 1996 Mazda MX-6. 2.0 Liter Manual with 4-I. 2 doors.
I want to make a bit modification in this car, but I dont know where to start.
1st: Can I change the engine or the car? and which type of engine is better.
2nd: I would like to drift with my car, what else I should mod.
Hope someone can help me with this car.
