Global Warming.. What Have U Done?!!

I like how everyone is talking.

so can I assume everyone is going to put back their catcons? Cuz without it you'll contribute more enviro unfriendly gases than what your lightbulbs since you drive your cars everyday.

How?

lol I think more than half the people have to shut up already cause removed cat-con.

I reduce and reuse.. half cut parts from Japan instead of buying new.. except brake pads and tyres la..that one I no choice.

And you can contribute by not buying hybrids. How you think the batteries were made, bird shit from sky? lol.

Dear good people...

All you guys suggest and did here is good. Plant more trees, plants, recycle, reuse and so on...

Sorry to pull back to the cat con topic. Its use is to convert NOx and CO into harmless nitrogen, and CO2 gases. It is still important. Planting trees is excellent! But will only help in converting CO2 into oxygen, but can do nothing about the harmful NOx and CO gases. So it does offset the carbon produce from your vehicle, but not the harmful gases...

I understand and agree cat con is damn expensive and especially high flow ones. It is not easy to afford. But then again, it all boils down to us. If we are willing to play our car, do we want to play it the responsible way, preserve it for future generations or just whack what we can now? This answer differs amongst individual.

The blame goes back to our dear stupid gov. Why do I say so? Cat cons prices are high due to their construction (made of platinum). For us, our fuel prices are high, car prices and high, and if the parts prices are also high, it is really hard. Other countries enforce the emission laws but why do people there never complain about cat con being expensive??? That is because car prices and fuel prices are reasonable. So the higher parts costs are not that much felt.

Conclusion: Use cat con, change government, stop lynas. Sorry I mean FUCK LYNAS (sorry a bit unrelated here).

LYNAS is needed because more & more people buy hybrids. if there's no demand (hybrids) then there won't be supply (LYNAS).

more accurately is FUCK HYBRIDS!

Hybrids are good and the forward way to go... And they are getting more and more fun too!

Speaking of Lynas, actually IMO, it is a good project. As long as it is managed properly. And it can provide employment opportunity and boost our economy. Australia themselves rejected it, its okay. It got to take place some where. So why not malaysia? The project itself if good. The problem is the implementation.

Problem 1: The people were not notified or asked and the project was already approved and 40% in completion.
Problem 2: This suppose to boost our economy. But tax free??? Are you serious? Not to mention this is a high risk operation.

But what I read it is mostly automated, so do not need too many people, a few hundred only. Then tax free for 5 or 10 years (not sure) so no gain also. Then the toxic waste where they throw??

Not true. Hybrids is a menace to the environment. Look at how they are made, the manufacturing and shipping of one hybrid causes more environmental damage than one normal petrol engine car. If you're looking at the future, then Hydrogen fuelcell is the way to go. Just that right now hybrids are getting a lot of support from the big companies. Check out the video of James May testing the Honda Clarity in Youtube. That car should be the way to go - zero emissions, zero batteries and the big oil companies can still make their money by producing hydrogen as fuel for these cars. In fact, hydrogen is as expensive as petrol in countries that have this option..

i wonder where u guyz get ur info..

i dont think any1 would destroy the environment just to save it.. what a waste of time..

and about the money, how would any1 collect all the money today when tomorrow is the end of the world?

------------

anyways, i started my lil project to help save the world..

'That's one small step for a man, one giant leap for mankind'... hohoho..

i hope every1 here would do the same ..

I would not say destroy, but like for electric car, yes it is good, zero emission also, but where do we get the electricity? Hydro, Solar, wind or burning of coal and fossil fuel?

Brother, is that Chili and Serai you are planting? Left one I cannot recognize....

Nice plants dude

But to give you an idea where the information is from, I'm just going to talk about the two main hybrids in KL.

Think about where Prius and Insight are from - Japan.

How are the cars shipped to KL? By ship. Ship uses diesel and pollute the sea.
What do hybrids partially run on? Batteries. Where are they made? In Japan but where are the raw materials made of? Who provides these raw materials? Companies like Lynas do. And what's the problem with Lynas recently?
Are hybrids really that clean? Sure. They have lower emissions. But with modern cars like the VW Bluemotion cars they have the same amount or less CO2 emissions and are more fun to drive (they don't have big butts like the 2 examples here). Besides, you want to reduce emissions or would you rather have zero emissions like in the case of the Honda Clarity which only has water as an emission?

Forget about Porsche, Lexus and those large car hybrids. These hybrids are a grey area in terms of being environmentally friendly. Their electric motors help produce more power which is different the Prius and Insight.

The other main tech that's different is the Chevy Volt. That's a electric car that is powered by petrol, meaning it's a true electric car but uses petrol to power it, rather than a car that has both an electric motor and petrol engine.

Good start..... The serai, you need to bury the root further in is better

oh.. about that..

actually the root already touches the bottom of the pot.. that's how long the root is..

-----------

did any of u guyz feel previous earthquake? i did..

that time i was lying on the floor.. then i felt like a large trailer speeding at the main road..

i was thinking "who the h*ll allow a large trailer speeding in the middle of the town??"

that night, saw the news.. aiya.. it's an earthquake.. here in Malaysia..

think about it guyz.. we need to go green & we need to do it fast

if u love ur cars & ur property, u need to act now

D7zul my friend, you are one of the few ZTHers here who debate without adding fire to your conversation so if you have something to say, just say la. I know you're not going to turn this discussion into a flame fest what.

Besides, everyone is entitled to their own opinion and it's just a matter of how well you sell that opinion to others mah.

d7zul, got earthquake ah? when?

actually, the earthquakes center is near Sumatra.. but the shock can be felt in Gombak..

i'm in Shah Alam.. so, i feel a lil only..

info below..

so does every 'Made in Japan' item

(this is going to be a political debate)
as far as i'm concern, those people who built Lynas are qualified scientists.. they know what they doing.. if they know that place would explode at any time, why they go there everyday..
like those people at oil rig.. they also have the strictest safety procedure

This.. i couldn't agree more

Items shipped in from Japan are not "environmentally friendly" unlike the Hybrid cars which claim to be mah.

Lynas whether safe or not will bound to have one or two environmental disasters. The radiation emitted by these sort of places will have "accetable tolerances" which is not "zero". So ultimately it's still bad.

Aiya.. screw Hybrids. Bring in the Blue Motion VWs anytime.

still waiting for proton and lotus tu unveil their range extender engine...thats the sort of electric vehicle i approve.....

u still uses petrol..but instead of driving petrol engine u just use petrol for powering the electric genset to charge the electric battery for moving the motor.....

That's good. But I'd be hard pressed to find someone who'd trust a completely new platform Proton car. Personally I wouldn't consider it unless they stop sourcing their parts from cronies!

But environmentally speaking this is a good idea. I wonder whats the emissions going to be like since it's still using petrol.
