Ford ^^ Holden

Anyway engine capacity doesn't determine how much power you can get from the factory. Let compare back with HONDAs and lets not take type-R. Honda S2000 make 250HP on a 2litres motor so does NSX 3.2litres motor need to makes 400HP if goes according to the ratio. There goes the same does 350Z 3.5litres makes 280HP and Falcons XR6 makes 240HP from 4litres motors if i am not mistaken, doesn't makes a different. This is because "white ppl" do not always push their mechanical near limits which Japanese push it slightly higher. Probably you can checkout what components material and components specification then you'll know where is the difference come from.

If talk about "history" yeah holden and ford do lose a big time due to their technology differences. Its just like why ppl didn't talk about the first manufacturer who put in a quattro into rally and wins it. Do many ppl still say quattro from Audi again and again ? Not really coz its "history". Time goes and technology Improve and human learns.

Anyway I am still a JDM freak but I do like HSV GTS-R Monaros which is limited.

Yeah i myself also like HSV GTS-R monaros too.

Take a look at this

And i personally still think same history will still repeat again if Aussie allow Nissan or BMW to race again.

I dont think so my HONDA City 1984 still run very well. I been driving it almost everyday and its still running now from stock engine without any overhall. I still think they are lack of technolgy. Do you know the frist 2 batch of monaro have engine oil problem?

Thinks about the fuel comsumption you need to spend on your car if you own an 240HP from 4litres motor and 250HP on a 2litres motor. Does it mean technology help you to save fuel without losing much HP.

GTR ar.... ok la... 4wd lo.... but i still prefer FR... n monaro is like the best option if i have cash.. very easily the tail can 'glide' through corners without much effort... mostly jdm will concentrating on skills to make it glide.. 4L is just raw power... step more on the pedal n there goes the tail... :D
Do more reseach and you can make a any GTR into FR or back AWD with just a second. Check HKS ETC or torque split controller

These controllers allow you to choose from 10 settings from 100% rear drive to max available front torque.

Alright S2000 sort of have better fuel consumption which is around 10.1litres/100km on a 2 litres motor and falcon consumption is around 11.5litres/100km. But don't forget to take into consideration of the weight of the car.

S2000 is a lightweight coupe and falcon is a heavyweight sedan. This made it save a bit on the fuel consumptions of the lightweight chassis and not because of it tecnology.

The things in S2000 is an art of design in short good design but not technology. The components used in Barra 182 which is current Falcon 6 cylinders is fairly more advanced than S2000.

Sorry i am not an Honda fan although i like honda but still i dont know much about it. May be you are right then Ford is more advance then Honda.

I will never agree that japs import spare parts are cheaper than local made spare parts for FORD n HOLDEN.......

may be worth to have a look....

Is not always someone is better and someone is worse.

There is strength and weaknesses. Didn't meant ford nor honda is the most advance manufacturer. Everyone do have their own technology strength and weaknesses. Therefore you can see so many different engine and its components design.

hi all,
i did not know there is such a nice thread here, i used to own a 98 VL commmodore back in aus hmm 5 years ago, that was good car but fuel is killing plus aust petrol is so expansive so change back to jap car. Now back in malaysia owning a korean car which is :thumpdown.

first
x-pression,

Are you thinking of import V8 engine or import a holden car here ??
but serious road tax going to kill you mate, imagine 5.7 little .....
but if you do thumb up of you mate and you rock  (get a HSV mate wif super charge) hehe i just love those HSV wif 18inch wheel standed.

Yeh, but the latest Holden n Ford they have really improved in the fuel consumption... totally different story with the olden models..... cheers

One question you guys remember those yellow cab(taxi) have one of those tank at the back of the boot... you guys know what is it for ?? is it for improved fuel consumption? and i head b4 is a gas or something

correct me if i'm wrong..
