:) hi guys,

see..... a friend of mine got a used (actually) lelong FIAT Ulysse.. but without keys...

so the Question is ...

1)Is the key has any connection to the ECU?
2) What can he do to start the car???

cheers...

your reply is appreciated.... :)

1. yes, it has connection to the ECU
2. he has to get another key, because all the keys have chip in it. in general, when you get a Fiat or Alfa, you're supposed to have 3 keys, (2 blue ones, 1 burgundy one), and also a key code card. this key code card is what you need in order to reprogram a new blank key.

bro, if all else fails, he has to change the ECU and get a new set of keys. either from Torino or from chop shop. but do ask him to go to Torino and get his chassis and engine number checked. chances are, Torino Motors still may have a copy of the key code card.

and do join www.italiaauto.com as that is the sanctuary for Italian car owners hehe. there, you can ask about anything related to Italian cars.

sub,

thanks for the reply and some insight of what's happening to the world of automobile.....its kind a like my friends BMW's key.....he always throw and "let fall" his key... now he can buka the doors... but can not start the engine....pity him... to chnage cost him a bumper ... RM1K....

thanks again bro...i'll tell him of your group...
cheers..

not a problem bro. thans for amplifying your friend about the existence of ItaliaAuto hehe. you too bro, are welcomed to join us, despite of whatever car you drive at the moment.
