I was wondering if there is any website that i can refer to about sound proving materials like dynamat. I am looking for very techincal details if possible

are u actually looking for how stuffs like Dynamat works?

the principle behind it is simply mass damping. You add mass to the area that you want to dampen. When u add mass, its resonance frequency becomes lower. So you end up with a dampened area that does not vibrate at the music frequency that u are playing.

the spongy stuffs that ppl call insuflex i.e. what aircon shop use to isulate their hoses is not suitable to be used as sound damping material. It can minimise reflection but not eliminating area vibration.

or here as well. They do comparisio also
